Latest report in the dutch media is that Real want Kevin Hofland.
They want him to stay at PSV in the first year to develop and then bring him to Madrid.

Kevin Hofland has quite clearly indicated United would be his first choice. So if the new manager wants him in the summer I'm quite confident he'll join.

Real would be more busy in the summer tying up their 'one big transfer'.

come the summer they will be after so many players they have already had their list leaked...
littleboyOwen was high up there
Sheva
Nesta
I think Giggs was on their

anyway my point is that we already have a head start on anyone else and i don't think Real will really persue enough him to be able to nick off us ... (i hope )

Id prefer a Central defence including a fully fit O'Shea and Brown with Neville rotating that fight for Hofland

Real is after everybody. Man they are crazy!!!

You maybe right there. I would however prefer Gaz to continue at CB with Blanc/O'shea rotating and switch Wes to RB. G Nev has got his confidence back and is playing marvellously.

No, the purchase of their old training ground by two of their main patrons - the Madrid town hall government, and the Madrid community government, not to mention that the Spanish government might have put up some too - who then went and payed for the building of their new training ground. They are financially cutting even at the minute, but when summer comes, well it's going to be Debt again. They don't even have a sponsor at the minute, and somehow have persuded Addidas to remove the three stripes from their kit. How much is that costing them?

It seriously pisses off the Catalans though, so I can't really complain about that. :D

weaste, i've read somewhere that Real are thinking of moving.. true???

furthermore, someone told me they're extending their stadium..

any truth in any of these rumours?

I've noticed that too. Is it because of the centennary (realmadrid.com), or what?

I watched the PSV match last-night on Channel 5...

Holfland is an all-round quality player, we should put up a fight to any opposition bids. His defending and heading is brilliant, his distribution is excellent for a defender, and his ball-control isn't bad either :)

You could be describing John O'Shea there

Moving no, they've just spent a load of cash redeveloping the facilities at the Bernabeu as they were slightly embarrassed by the rating UEFA gave it when the Camp Nou got five stars. As for extending it, it's not as easy for them to extend as it is for Barcelona as they have a roof over 3/4 of the ground (Barca only have a roof over the main stand - 1/4). Strange looking thing it is. There is no reason why they couldn't put an extra tier on the bit without a roof though! It's 82 thousand right now (I think) so there isn't really the need to expand it. Most Spanish football grounds are half empty for most matches. It's only when Real and Barca play that the Camp Nou is full.

I somewhere heard Real wanted to sell the Bernabeu and build a new stadium on the outskirts.

This was just speculation a year or two ago i think, cant remember now ;) . They had little models of their brand new training ground and massive new modern stadium but it was all bullshit. They definately don't have the finances to do a stadium like that. Madrid is trying to host the Olympics in 2012 so maybe Madrid does build a new Real stadium for Olympic purposes...

On the Hofland, I read in Marca on friday that Valdano was interested but it is bullshit. There is always at least one player linked to Madrid everyday in that pro-madrid newspaper. Everyone complains about how British papers are all ABU Marca do nothing more than kiss madrid's ass. It's seriously annoying, and all it does is fuel the cockiness of the Madrid supporters. I don't think we have to be scared of Madrid snatching away Hofland, Fergie has obviously tapped Hofland up just as he did with Van Man. If Hofland is going to move it's going to be us IMO.

In the manchester evening news today

united will go in for hofland at the end of the season for around 10 milllion,it also says that fergie has been given 25 million kitty which will be spent on the defence alone

in a fergie interview he says that veron will be staying at the club

let me ask you this question...why would we be interested in a young talented central defender if the spanish giants didn't rate him also?

this is par for the course...Barca were sniffing around the Jaapster before he signed for the shirts.

are Real Madrid or Barca interested in Nesta or Cannavaro?...NO....why?

because they are in no mood to pay mega bucks for vastly overated defenders.

La Liga like the Prem values attacking players above defenders.

You can envisage a scenario where a club pays fantastic money for an established striker(Batistuta) or an attacking midfielder/playmaker(Zidane) and reaps the rewards.

RVN can go from risk to bargain in the space of 6 months.

To pay silly money for an established defender like Thuram or an overated player like Nesta or Cannavarro is money down the pan.

Stam, Hofland, Hypia etc....this type of player costs £10 million or more less than the Italians and is better suited to the English game.

...the ladies always find me out.

still...keep stum luv...because there are certain elements on this forum who don't value free speech and can't handle the fact a United fan can be a little bit fly and naughty and still support the shirts.
