REAL MADRID have targeted David Beckham to take over from Portuguese superstar Luis Figo. The Spanish club's president Florentino Perez has promised to snap up the Manchester United genius within the next two years.

Figo is ready to quit Real after the European Championships in 2004 when he will be 32 and ready for the last big move of his career.

Perez wants Beckham to take over Figo's mantle and insists he can persuade Becks and Sir Alex Ferguson to make the transfer to the Bernabeu Stadium happen.

Lets bleed the bastards for 50 million quid! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Isn't going to happen!

Real want Becks
I want a lot of things but im sure i wont get them :D

Jaoquin has already said he will in all-white within the next few years. He is much younger than Beckham, Spanish, far cheaper, and could possibly become a better player than Beckham.

Yeah, could be a better player than Becks, hecan go past a lot of defenders and could be a cover for Becks until he retires but I don't see him sitting on the bench. However,if SAF buys him,I think he could be a good buy.

Joaquin is much more talented than Beckham.Joaquin's buy out clause is 40 million and sources say that Betis will not come down. It seems Real is also interested in Veron.

Barca try to sign Beckham every summer.

He's going nowhere. For now.

In reality, buy out clauses are only relevant for transfers between two Spanish Clubs.

You misread. Joaquin IS going to Real Madrid. He will not go to Manchester, Becks won't go to Madrid.

Yes, but Beckham's shirts can outsell Joaquin's 100-1 and Florentino could sink his teeth into the mouth-watering Asian cash cow.

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> @ Real

Would be funny if MU gave out that they were going to buy Figo in 2004 in order to warm the bench.

Beckham is almost the same age as Figo.

Hierro is practically gone, Roberto Carlos and Figo only have a few more years, and Zidane, who knows how long he can last at this level? Beckham would just be another player who's going to be past it soon.

Joaquin is better business. He will come cheaper and be around much longer. Selling shirts? Merengue success will sell shirts regardless of who is on the field.

Beckham is not headed for Madrid.

Backs has got 4-5 top years in him at least. But he won't go anywhere !!!

Is it?But who can pay him?
Why should Real want to get Beckham for a high price?Joaquin costs much less and is more younger and talented than Beckham .Fact is Joaquin will join Madrid not Beckham

Milan - But they've (Ancelloti) just said they don't want him

Barca - In turmoil at the moment, I can't see Beck's going there...

Inter - They want Giggs, they might just swoop for Beck's if SAf says no for Giggs, not high profile enough for Beck's

Arsenal - <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> They trying to compete with the big boys....NEVA!!

Juve - They have plenty of Cash, I dunno how ambitious Lippi and the Chairman is though...and they already have the scudetto...

Basically, Old Trafford is Beckham's Home... <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Buy out cost? We don't have them in England mate. And even if we did, do you know what a "buy out cost" in Spain for example actually means?

Sorry for that mistake.Clubs will slap buy-out clause on their players to keep away their potential suitors. They will usually set an amount, and if someone pays it and reaches an agreement with the corresponding player, then he will leave.Buy-out clauses are negotiable against certain big clubs, who might offer a player-plus-cash deal.it's valid only in Spain. The point i tried to make was "Beckham is more costlier coz of he is highly marketable ".

Real should have Joaquin by then, so we can try and swap the two. As Real are becoming more savvy financially, they wont turn down all that merchandising money. On a sidenote about that, since joining them in the summer Ronaldo has earned them £2m in merchandising

should only be accepted if they swap raul and give use 30 mil pounds fair exchange <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

It would have to involve Raul or Ronny coming to us as part ex. RM Have been pretty pursuasive in recent times when they've set themselves a target, if silly money is offered, I wouldnt rule it out.

It would certainly be a nice pot for the new manager to spend.

Tell them they can have Giggs for 50m instead

:D
