Haven't seen a general thread on them. Just wondered whether people knew how they are affording the players they have brought in recent years considering they wanted to join the Super League not too long ago as they couldn't compete with other clubs on transfer spend?

They are rich.

They have the highest revenue and are often good at selling. After the Hazard fiasco, they also spent practically nothing and saved on Mbappe:

Aren't they partially funded by the govt?

No. That’s just a myth that keeps getting regurgitated by Twitter and Barsa fans.

They have the highest revenue in football according to Forbes. And are pretty thrifty in the the transfer market. End of story.

It helps that they are able to pick up Mbappe and Rudiger, top 3 players in the world their positions, on free transfers just because they're Real Madrid, when they otherwise would have cost them about £250m on them two alone. Alaba too.

But yeah, generally they have spent pretty well in recent years. They've picked up Thouameni and Camavinga for the price of one Enzo Fernandez. They've also sold well, moving Varane for around £35m replaced by Rudiger and Alaba on frees and then moving Casemiro for £60m was pretty good business.

I read that their net spend over the last 5 years is 149m compared with ours which is 600m.

They are the most popular marketable club in the world, and incredibly well run.

Hats off to Perez… when he eventually leaves can we expect a succession style meltdown?

They have huge revenues, they buy well, and they sell well. Not much of a mystery.

They had Taylor Swift conserts in their stadium a while ago so they are probably crazy rich now.
