What harm is it really causing anyone? Fresh quotes from the horses mouth about what really happened and we're not allowed to discuss it.

It's definitely makes you look cool if you're seen to be against the whole muppet thing. It's like an Internet version of that whole hipster thing. Yeah man, being into transfers is so commercial.
 
I don't understand why the original one was closed. It had a lot of shit in it but deleting it is more embarrassing than the content within, if that's what happened.

Exactly. This site gets a shite load of traffic through the Transfer Forum which inevitably leads to people interested in Transfers (not all are Muppets despite what the cool kids will want you to believe) signing up.

Then when a big transfer saga like that happens, and alot of people get involved and it doesn't always stay on topic but is good fun all the same (heaven forbid) people jump on their high horse and act like it's the worst thing that ever happenend.

The fact it's then deleted because it's "embarrasing" is embarrasing in itself.

Either you have a Transfer Forum that attracts alot of traffic and you put up with what comes with that or you don't have a Transfer Forum and you have a higher quality of posting. If you're going to have a Transfer Forum and then moderate it heavy handedly because it's not inkeeping with the sites quality then you're just asking for trouble.

I think in this case, its more like deleting Nazi Germany.

This isn't about wanting Sneijder, I'm more than happy with our squad. But I don't see the harm in discussing the saga, as has been said before, if you don't like talking about it, don't go in the thread. Apart from the off topic posting which could easily be ignored there is sod all to moderate, it's just harmless fun.

Talk about over modding.

How exactly do you know there is "sod all moderating". What absolute rubbish. You say that because its constantly being moderated.
 
It was an embarrassment of a thread........but embarrassment is funny, petition to bring it back needs to be started.
 
He's come out with new quotes today. Its a bit silly we're not allowed to discuss that on a Manutd forum. Would have been better leaving it open for a few days after the window shut.
 
It's closed, find a way to make peace with that. It's just a thread, about a player, who isn't coming. Im sure we will all survive somehow.
 
For future reference, threads moaning about why other threads are closed need to be started in the Admin/Help forum.
 
But remember, common sense can and should be applied first.

It was hellish to moderate, and for those who think it wasnt, don't be so niave. Posters were told literally countless times to stop taking it off topic and spamming, every time that did not work. It was opened again as the end of the window was yesterday, its done now, we can move on. Posters were warned it is not the general in there, now its been closed as we can't trust it be left to serious discussion. That is the end of the matter.
 
I pasted that message from another sneijder thread to answer the raging masses.
