Re Green&gold etc threads

The hard thing is stopping the silly (and not so silly) multiple threads without over doing it. We have merged the Red Knights topics into one to start with.

There is a Green and Gold thread on the fist page any one started by Ralphie on the bottom of page 4. I think they could be merged. What do you think?

I'm can change the Gill topic on the front page to a praise/bashing "all comments" topic but I can't find anything obvious to merge into it in the first 8/10 pages so I tend towards not merging anything and just changing the title so that from now on all further Gill comments go here. What do people think?

Can we have only one "discuss about the amount of threads" thread?

Yes I've just seen the RK threads merging - think that's a good move.

Happy to have the two G&G threads merged.

There was another Gill thread a bit ago I think that could be merged, although of course if it's fallen below page 5 it might not get bumped back up anyway so a merge might not be necessary.

I'll have a search for the other Gill thread. I might just change the title and only merge if the old thread gets bumped, unless is is a really obvious merge.

There is a thread about G&G balloons for Wembley. I'm not intending to merge this because the event is passed.

I have made an "All boycott" thread as well.

Would it be feasible to create an 'Anti Glazer' sub forum temporarily?

It would be nice to keep football discussion and the anti Glazer stuff separate. Right now the United forum is dominated by off the pitch stuff, and while it is a very important subject I think it's being overdone slightly and could be put in its own sub forum to allow the people who don't want to talk about/don't understand the financial side of things to stay focused on football.

I don't think so. The FCUoM sub forum was formed because it wasn't United exactly and it wasn't NOT United exactly. All this discussion about Glazer, MUST, G&G, Boycotts, Gill etc etc is very much about United and so should be in the United forum IMO. Other Admins may think differently but I don't think so. It certainly hasn't even been raised as a suggestion so far.

That's fair enough. I was just trying to see it from the perspective of people who have no interest in the financial side of it or don't understand it, but on second thoughts, it probably needs all the attention that the United forum affords it.

Im thoroughly confused by all the merging and think I have missed many posts that I was supposed to reply to as a result but it was definitely required so well done on all that!

We have tried not to merge anything that wasn't truly part of the exact same topic. The Gill thread is the hardest because the later posts are largely a combination of Gill and Red Knights stuff. I thought about trying to move posts to a more appropriate thread but it looked like it would cause even more confusion so I didn't.

Be very careful with the merging Wibble, otherwise someone might come back again and leave again again. Again.

Nah not too much - will work better going forward anyway.

In the interests of completeness you may want to merge the original Red Knights thread into the new one:
https://www.redcafe.net/f6/so-who-red-knights-284510/

I have copied most of the posts in that thread over and closed the original thread. I don't think we need all those pictures of Orville TBH.

Thanks for the heads up.
