So, it's nearly the end of the year, and almost all of the large releases are out worldwide, so lets decide which ones were the best at what they did.

The platforms you can vote for are PS3, XB360, Wii, and PC. If you don't play games on one of the systems, don't vote for it. For example, I have a PC, but I don't play games on it, so I'm not voting for anything PC related. I do not own an XB360 or Wii, so I'm not voting for it.

There will be one chance to vote for an overall winner across all platforms, and that is simply overall game of the year. The rest of the categories for the overall winners, I will extrapolate from how many people voted for each platform, which will give some idea of the relative sizes of the userbases of each platform. If you have not played a game in a particular category/genre, please leave it blank.

Please use bold for you votes, and only one game per category. Copy the category list for each platform you want to vote for, and label the list with the name of the platform.

That's what I thought you meant, just couldn't really think of any for the PS3 :S

I actually went and found a version of R-Type on the net when you talked about it last, was quite nostalgic as when I was very young my dad used to play it and I used to watch
 
and as you can see i really thought that Uncharted was possibly the greatest game ever.

i havent had that much in a game for years, really didnt want it to end :(

Great game is R-Type, I play the arcade version on my PC from time to time, but trying to control the craft with a keyboard isn't quite the same.

There have been very few of that type of game on PS3 this year, although PixelJunk shooter is coming out on Thursday.

Didn't R-Type Dimensions come out on XB360 at the start of the year on XBLA? They still haven't released it for PS3 the bastards! You could even go into a pseudo 3D mode.

Sports can go in the best game not fitting a genre, music games are party games. Sports games for most, to be fair, is FIFA or PES, I doubt that anything else would get much of a mention, too narrow.

The sports genre missing in fact was a feck up of mine, but it's too late now.
