Any fans around here? Awesome band, one of the best in the 90s

Their first album was great, still is, after that they went shit.

First album great, indeed.

I liked also "Battle of Los Angeles" with "Sleep now in the fire".

'Bullet in the Head', and 'Killing in the Name Of' are two of the greatest songs of all time. They bring back some great memories of my teenage years.

Unfortunately, as Rednome said, they did go a bit shit after the first album

Haven't listened to their debut for years, think I'll have a trip down memory lane.

All of their albums are brilliant and their live performances are out of this world. One of my favourite bands.

first album is great!
evil empire just couple of songs and a i like battle of LA a lot...
good band

The rest of their albums are indeed very disappointing but their music was pure venom; very engaging, most of these contemporary nu-metal bands can't hold a candle to RAGE.

they're great, pity about the backlash against them because of their political stance.

Brilliant band... Audioslave arent bad either... saw them live, great show

I find it so weird that people don't like Evil Empire. I'm a massive Rage fan, and it's by far my favourite record. Every tune on it absolutely slams, it's got the best lyrics. The slight moments of cheesiness off the first record (like Settle for Nothing and the solo in Know You Enemy) are gone and it's just full of massive grooves. I swear, if everyone who likes the first record just gave it a really good listen, they'd come round. Battle of LA and Renegades are great records too, mind.

Saw them live at Reading in 2000, what a show.

I got Evil Empire the day it came out, listened to it once and sold it the next day (something I amost never do).

Maybe didn't give it enough of a chance, but it shows just how badly I must have thought about it at the time.

Do you remember what it was you didn't like about it? The first two tunes, People of the Sun and Bulls on Parade are classic Rage, but as the album goes on it does get a bit different I suppose. The sound is much warmer, it's less led by Morello, more by the rhythm section. And like Simon said (!), the first album feels like being angry and political in a juvenile way (feck you I won't do what you tell me etc), whereas on Evil Empire the lyrics are a lot more intelligent, and just sound more confident. It's amazing, I swear

When I was in high school, we were state champions (9 of the last 10), so we made Evil Empire shirts for the next season and won again. It was class
