Hot property. Serie A MVP of 21/22 and 14th on the Ballon d'OR list. Bruno likes him (not enough to watch the game on BT). Leao doesn't like media reporting that his daddy is asking for a huge salary bump. I don't know what to read into that, but I'd be surprised to see him stay at Milan beyond the summer.

And here's Bruno's story (Watching the game on a Portuguese stream it seems) comparing him to Sonic X :

And a reminder, he got more votes than CR7 for the Ballon d'OR last season.

He really didn't impress me in his World Cup cameos but he has earned rave reviews for Milan so.....meh.

Looks a good player, but he plays in the same position and fulfils a very similar role that our best winger does.

I got more votes than ronaldo, not hard.

Unless you are the burner account of one of the 19 players who actually got more votes than him (meaning voted in the preliminary process to get nominated and then voted in the final vote to potentially win it), no you didn't.

Agreed Ronaldo is no longer top 30 players of the world... But it is the first time in a while that a Portuguese player has featured ahead of him in those rankings..

I don't think he got enough playing time to impress anyone... Still came out one of the most efficient players per minute played... And his cross for Pepe against Morocco should have resulted in an equalizer (and a potential qualification).

Actually had the best goal/90 ratio among players involved in at least 4 games...

Does he play much as a #9, because left wing is far from a priority for us right now. Also how wary should we be of Serie A players?

Never seen him play there but according to transfermarket, he played 69 games as a striker.

He looked lazy as feck in the world cup. Felt like he was just swanning around when he came on.

Has clear pace and talent, but don't think he's a good fit for us.

He's a quality left winger and I love watching him with Milan but he can be hot and cold at times and we already have plenty of options for left wing

He was a centre forward as a young(er) player. I swear he somehow signed for City at some point as a teenager.

A few days ago he was linked with City, then Chelsea.

Definitely not looking for a pay rise.

I think you may be confusing him with "our own" Rafael Leao. The Brazilian left-back who played in our U21s some 10/12 years ago with Lingard, Pogba and others (Include Everton's Keane, Drinkwater etc..)

Or are you talking about another player completely. Then maybe you meant Brahim Diaz (That one is Spanish-Morrocan... Not Portuguese). Diaz did indeed play for City at some point. He now belongs to Real Madrid and has been on loan to Milan since July 2021...

Nope, this Rafael Leao, who plays for Milan and formerly Lille. He either joined, or was close to joining City years ago I’m sure. Think a deal was almost done for him when he was at Sporting.

Where would you put him on shortlist for a number 9 for us this summer

I wouldn't.

Because from what I've seen he mostly plays off the left wing. He's not a 9 or a striker, he doesn't score enough goals.

Most of those were a long time ago, at a very young age... And the count is not accurate at all. They have him wrongly considered a striker in many games of 20/21 season, whenever Zlatan wasn't available.. But if you look into the lineup, it is generally more complicated than that. He is some kind of false 9 or playing either RW or LW...

I took this game Lazio 3-0 Milan in 20/21. He came off the bench for 30 minutes and according to Transfermarket he is CF (maybe because he replaced Mandzukic). But the heatmap on whoscored tells another story... It suggests that Rebic became the CF when Mandzukic went off.

Think he's closer to Zaha than Rashford imo... one who I'd like to admire from afar, like Chelsea or Spurs

More of a left forward. The likes you see everywhere now. He is definitely quality. But he doesn't press or track back as he should is what I've seen.

I don't think he gets talked about enough. What a player. Get agent Bruno and Dalot on it

edit: sorry, didn't realise this was in the transfer forum

Everyone has been watching out for Kvara in these last few weeks when AC and Napoli have met but it's this guy who stepped up.
What a player when he's on form

Yeah can't deny that run for goal was special

He's too inconsistent. Ever since the contract extension rejection in December he's been just phoning it in.

He's more inconsistent than Rashford but just as good as him on his day. Both very similar players.

getting him locked down w CL next season still not certain is massive for us. was running the clock down with 1yr left on his current deal.
great work by the mgmt team. such a shame he's almost certainly not starting for us tonight.
