Can anyone get behind the paywall and get that article up, or at least find the key points in it such as fee etc? Much appreciated.

Kroos , jay rod and now falcao !
Must mean they've got a buyer for di Maria

So potentially:

Ronaldo--Falcao--Bale

As a front three with the likes of Rodriguez in behind. Jesus christ.

That front three would be a downgrade from Cristiano, Benzema and Bale anyway. Falcao is a better striker than Benzema but there's no way he'd fit the tactics as well as Benzema does - pretty much the perfect foil for Cristiano.

On paper its mouthwatering though. It might be a downgrade for Ronaldo but goals would come from elsewhere.

Whenever I saw Benzema in the CL last season he was poor and the worst attacker on the pitch for Madrid, not sure about the league though.

Exactly, in the same way di Maria (in midfield over James) is excellent foil for Ronaldo. They've signed great players on paper but man I feel for Carlo trying to make this team work.

It is mouthwatering on names alone but I think it's a case of the grass not always being greener. Falcao is as lethal as they come but he's less of a creator than Benzema is and more reliant on service. I couldn't see him dropping deep and struggle to see how having so many poachers in one team would work - relatively speaking of course, they'd still be capable of steam rolling most teams around.

Not allowed to post paywalled articles. Not much said in the article anyway.

Just says that LFC are desperate for another striker and they enquired about Falcao but he's got his heart set on RM.

Yep. Madrid are interested in galatico's most of the time rather than a system that works, if a name doesn't fit you're out. Can't believe they want Di Maria out after the season they had, just to sign some shiny new toys. I wonder how much of a hand Ancelotti has in most of these new signings?

Falcao is a world class striker, Real haven't had one for years. They would be completely unstoppable with him.

-----------------------------Falcao (~£60m?)
Ronaldo (£80m)-----Rodriguez (~£60m)-----Bale (£85m)

Front line worth more than £280m.

I am really surprised they didn't go for Falcao or Cavani last season when they both became available. Instead they went for a player who they already had a class act in place of in Angel Di Maria.

That said, logic and Madrid rarely intertwine.

Messi Suarez Neymar is still better.

That depends on opinion, Suarez is better than Falcao but Bale is on another level to Neymar on current ability. Then it's down to who you prefer out of Messi/Ronaldo.

Bit harsh considering one had Tito and one had Carlo.
He was a competent manager that beat ancelotti twice in the league. He definitely wasn't an idiot who didn't know what he was doing. It is harsh to use la liga standards to judge managers as not many managers last long at clubs. He also managed to make the champions of the premiership look quite basic too.

City are crap in Europe, any good side makes them look average in the CL. Dortmund, , Bayern, Napoli, Barcelona etc.

Messi Suarez Neymar is still better.

Let's see how they do together first as there's no question where everyone is playing in the Madrid front 3, Ronaldo is left, Bale is right and Falcao through the middle. If Suarez is going to play from wide then I doubt he'll be the all conquering force he was last year, and Neymar is still yet to perform for them really.

And also who fits into their team and league better as well as raise the level of their team and give them something different or vastly improve what the team is already good at, which bale did last season. I think neymar has a higher ceiling than bale but if we are comparing who so far has been the better player and the better signing then their is only one winner. It could turn out the same for falcao even though suarez is the better player. Falcao scores against the big teams too.

True. I still believe that martino was a good manager and was competent and capable of managing a big club. It is not as easy as it looks as moyes showed.

Also Falcao being proven in La Liga and having experience could be a big boost in the first season at least so he could settle in more quickly than Suarez.

Criticism of Martino was over the top. Barca were not as horrible last season as they were made out to be.

I'm sure he's competent and even with a side like Barcelona you need a good manager that can make all those great players a team. Was just pointing out that beating City in the CL isn't anything big sadly, its a massive shame for the BPL as our best league side never performs in Europe compared to United and especially Chelsea.

True. Especially when you take into account the neymar controversy, the messi taxes problem and also the problems with the board and rosell resigning. Messi getting injured and then not really playing at his full capabilities (despite still scoring a lot and putting in big performances vs city and Madrid which just shows how harshly he is judged) did not help either.

That story ran in the Spanish press a few days ago. Since then Monaco's boss has said there are no negotiations underway with Madrid.

Don't want to start an argument here but Messi is better than Ronaldo, so is Suarez than Falcao. It's down to you on Neymar and Bale, with personal opinion that Bale is better at the moment for me.

It certainly will be one hell of a season for both Real and Barca, given that Athletico beat them to the title last year.

If Di Maria is going I can see them buying Falcao, although it will be surplus to what they have at the moment.

Sorry but you cannot say Messi is better than Ronaldo and say it isn't opinion. I'm not going to say who I prefer to avoid a Ronaldo vs Messi boring debate but he's the current WPOTY and both are very even, its very much down to personal view.

Suarez is better than Falcao, I'm sure most would agree. Bale is clearly ahead of Neymar going off league form, its not even particularly close. Neymar could be the better player but right now Bale is superior.

For once, I agree with you. Suarez has been consistently exceptional for a few seasons, whereas Falcao just had one. And not only was Bale's last season better than Neymar's, but Bale's came off the back of a couple in which he was regularly unplayable (adding lots of goals in the second) in a strong league, whereas Neymar's hype has noticeably diminished (as, I can't help but note because I'm a smug dickhead, I always predicted) now that he's not in a league where he regularly gets to play against League Two-level teams in Brazil's various regional and metropolitan competitions.

As you say, the Messi-Ronaldo thing is definitely down to opinion. Although I can't see that there's much doubt that Ronaldo was better last season.
