Alright people,
Might be a silly question, so if it is, please forgive me...
I basically want to know let's say...

If I'm managing Manchester United, and I've got a budget of let's say 40 million quid for the season, and I don't spend much (or any) of it, does whatever's left get carried to the budget for next season? Or is it wasted and advisable to spend it anyways since I won't be getting any of it back?

No, you get an brand new budget, it could be less or more, considering how you did in the season, both economically (wages, shirt sales transfers etc) and how you did in all football competitions. But no, the transfer budget changes every season, and it won't get carried over.

Fair enough..thanks for the help..
So your suggestion would be to perhaps spend it anyways?

The point is I don't even need any more signings (even though my assistant says i do ), yet I don't want the budget to be a waste.

It gets carried over in that if you have a huge budget you'll have a huge budget the following year.

Keep spending and every year you'll start of with a new budget of £20,000,000 or so. Don't spend any and it'll slowly rise.

You could be young, talented players around 17 years if you dont need any first team players

Has anyone got an update patch with all the transfers & managerial changes plus all the promotions and relegations for 2007/8 season.

I need that too, I want to play the current season but don't want to wait until FM 08 as I'll be to busy by the time it comes out.

The weegie update is the one for you, i think the latest update goes to this morning or something like that

weegie

Sorry mate i'm not on my home computer, also i don't think they update it every day, just every week or so. Surely you can wait until 630?:D

Yeah I will wait. Do you install it like you do with the official ones or is it different.

You install it into the "db" folder in the Sigames folder in your My Documents.
"My Documents --> Sports Interactive --> Football Manager 2007 --> db"

The db in the actual Football Manager 2007 folder is for their official updates. Unofficial ones go in the My Documents one.

Then, once you've put it there, you need to start a new game. On the drop-down where you select the database to use, there should now be an option labelled FMWeegie, or something like that. Use it. It's very good, since all the transfers are in the right place, but of course everything is still based off last year, so players are still too young. Just picture it as if everyone had bought all their current signings last year, too.

It's different, the full instructions are on the page i linked, but in short you have to...

(a) Download WinRAR
(b) Extract the weegie folder once it is downloaded, using winrar(not complicated, just click on the downloaded folder, and it will do it automatically.
(c) Go to the Sports Interactive folder, go into the Football Manager 2007 folder, then the db folder. Drag and drop the extracted folder in here.
(d)When you start a new game you get a menu, offering the choice of database. Pick Weegie.
(e) Enjoy:)

Also, if you download another update after this one, remember to delete the original weegie folder from db as apparently they conflict if there is two databases in there.

Best of luck

Thanks guys! The update is down being repaired, hopefully it'll be up and working soon.
