So, let me get this straight, if one of us clicks on the google ads then Niall gets cash to fund the caf. If thats true, then whey not have a synchronised caf click on the ads thread and make Niall a millionaire? Do we actually have to use the advertised sites to get cash or is a click enough?

They should have more adds can only see a few. Nobody would mind clicking if it generates cash.

Google have a very strict policy about these sort of things. And if they suddenly see a massive boost in clicks, then they might close Niall's google account because of click-fraud.
But if everyone just click a couple of times a week, then Google problably won't notice but there's never any Guarantees though.
