.. who has only watched football post '93 who actually believes the 'Boring Liverpool' jibes propgated by the media and sarcastic Mancs?

I ask this because before football was 'glamourised' in the days of Sky Sports - and during, it must be said - football was always seen as a game where the point was to win the league..

I would also like to know that if Liverpool are 'boring' - how they managed to score more goals than any other English team last season? 127 I make it..

No doubt I'll get quite a few Post '93 Mancs responding - but I'm not interested in your views because, sadly, your views don't really count - because (Unless you're very young) that would make you a footy bandwagon jumper - no, I'm interested in the PROPER pre-'93 football fans who used to go home and away in the 'good old days'..

I find footballing dicussions with people of 30+ are usually a thousand times more interesting than those below that age - no offence - but the younger 'uns just don't have the slant on footballing history and tradition (Something I find extremely important) - Man Utd teams of the past have been branded as 'rubbish' by some muppets - and joking aside - in the 26 year barren spell - United had some very good players and very good teams and usually challenged most years - Liverpool in our barren patch had some good players and some not so good players - but it's always interesting to look back...

Answers on a postcard..

you really are a paranoid bitter sap

i ve watched football since i can remember, early 80's or so :D , they say seeing is believing, well ive seen pool and they're dire, how many defensive midfielders can a team have??, and now youse are after Barry Ferguson, the man who makes Dennis Wise seem like a nice chap ;)

agrre with you about fans Utd and pool fans that have both been through the highs and lows of the 80's & 90's do give a better discussion,
both utd & pools barren spells were littered with great players, Robson, Remi Moses, Sparky(spell1 especially, whiteside, fowler, mcmannaman, rednapp etc) but neither of em could get it together,
its been a long time perhaps 30 yrs since utd and pool have been genuine title contenders @ the same time

Andy, aren't you expecting a rather high level of comprehension to respond - constructively - to your post...?

If what you say has any merit, you need the over 30s to do that for you...

Me? Well, over 40 of course...

Yes. But I don't get this impression from the media, I get it from tragedies like the second half against Roma. The kids on here won't believe it but back in the days when Alan Hansen played football LFC (i.e., the pre '93 era referred to by Bittertwat) was an attacking team that was enjoyable to watch.

. . . which has got exactly nothing to do with whether or not you're a boring side to watch. But other than being completely irrelevant to the argument, it's a good point.

You played more matches than any other English team, and scored over twenty of those goals against lower division sides.

If you don't think it matters how boring your team is as long as it wins, fine. Just don't expect the rest of the world to pretend that it ain't so. Are you really deluded enough to think that the whole 'boring Liverpool' tag is just a media conspiracy?
