.. Just why are you all so bitter about Liverpool Football Club?

You say that we're 'bitter' (Specially me - bitter @ Allerton) because:

a) We're jealous of your success
b) We're jealous of your team
c) We're jealous that you're the biggest team in the world
d) We're jealous because you're more famous than us

etc..

But if none of those things exists in your minds - why the bitter and pathetic attitude towards Liverpool Football Club and it's fans?

Seems a bit like you know you're house is built on sand to me.. ?

But - you don't - I work in Manchester and get on fine with the majority of Mancs. I have lived round the country and what I have found is that the more you move around the more alike people actually are.

It's a shame that England seems so fragmented these days.. :(

In my eyes it is quite simple. Just becuase of the success you once had, you think you are better than the rest of us and have some devine right to be the best. Even now when we are the best (we are still champions) you cannot appreciate what we have done and still harp on back to the old days. You are all living in the past. Whenever we argue with you, your only reply is that your have won 18 titles and 4 European Cups. Well congratualations, I hope you enjoyed them because they matter diddly-squat to what is happening today.

Plus, you are the biggest bunch of dole blundging, thieving, unemployable, shell-suit wearing, crap speaking bunch of t*ssers on the planet. And it p*sses me off to think that my hard earned tax that I pay is going to pay for you all. :p

Castrate all of you at birth.

traumatic childhood (the 80's),
Tough growing up in a world where we hoped for a top 4 finish and dreamed of a Cup final appearance while pool cleared the board.
Its payback time,
and i hate Liverpools sick red colour on their shirts, and the fact that they think they're the most loveable ppl in the world and the fact that they think that everyone in the world supported Liverpool as a child.

I dont mind Man City as im not a Man. In Ireland its roughtly 40% Utd & 40% Pool fans so to me Pool are our bitter rivals. I hate them as much as i hate Glasgow Rangers.

Can't agree. A football club is built on foundations laid in history. We can't dismiss LFC's past as being irreleveant to today. Nor can we or should we dismiss our history as being in some way part of our success today. Busby, Munich, George Best and all the other componenents of our past make us great today. It what make United great, it's why players dream of playing for United, it's why most of our fans support us. It is what makes us what we are today and the ame applies to LFC.

There's a simple test that tells us that the rest of the country can't stand scousers also.

It starts with "Singing Aye Yi Yipee Yipee Aye....." and usually ends up with the oposition fans clapping along with the Reds.

I lived in Aintree for 6 months in 1999 - I was engaged to a scouser (she works at Anfield - the place not the ground!)

I remember driving to the chippie wearing the old blue/white striped United top! By the time I got my order there was a crowd of about 5 youth's (12-17 yr olds) waiting outside.... as I walked out of the shop and towards my car - they started hurling abuse at me!!! And they dont even know me!!!

I used to pick the missus up from work on a regular basis - I saw people walking round Anfield wearing Leeds, Newcastle even Arsenal tops on - and no one ever abused them!!!

Double standards I think!!!

You call for people to respect the 'others'!

We are all the same deep down - we love a team!!!

So before you start asking United fans why we dispise Pool fans - ask yourselves first!

Firstly, I'd say that the vast majority of 12-17 years olds who hang around most of our cities are total wankers. I've seen them in Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, London etc.etc. etc. etc. So to say that Liverpool is alone in having dodgy fecking kiddies annoying people is a bit strange.

Secondly, If I wandered around most parts of Manchester in a Liverpool top I would totally expect to get at least verbally hassled (If not physically - I work in Manchester and I know what they are like even in the 'posh' part - Cheadle - they don't like Liverpool - and I wouldn't expect them to - and I wouldn't put myself into the position where I set myself up as a target for knobheads)

Thirdly, I've had hassle in Liverpool from Evertonians for wearing my LIVERPOOL shirt - so the fact you've had it from kiddies for a Man Utd top is no suprise - I'm sure there are Man City/Man Utd fans who would have a go at their opposite club's supporters in Manchester too..

You can't categorise people - never mind an entire city full of them. I work in Manchester, I get on with 99% of people there who are decent, hardworking honest people. I live in Liverpool and I've worked in Liverpool and 99% of people there who are decent, hardworking honest people.

Every City has scum. Every City has problems. Every City has crime.

To label one person by where they came from is bigotry. Pure and Simple. It's no different than Racism.

Actually, if you're talking specifically about us Manchester United fans here on RedCafe, we 'hate' you because out of all the fans of the other teams that had visited this place, the vast majority of the idiot, brainless, bitter, useless, wind-up merchants and muppets are from your team.

I can remember some reasonable fans of other teams who can contribute sensible topics and posts. I can't remember one Pool fan on here that does that. The only thing you people do here is try to wind people up and insult our team.

That's why.

Btw, we're not bitter about you. Why should we? I think the majority of MU fans on here couldn't care less about your team if you don't come in here and insult us.

Well actually im bitter, i would'nt piss on Anfield if it were on fire.
;) :p

As a Canadian, I can't say that I grew up hating/disliking Liverpool FC.

The current reasons are:
1. The visiting fans on redcafe who constantly do nothing other than wind-up the United fans,

2. They play boring football! Like Arsenal of old. I respect the 'new Arsenal' and Newcastle. I applaud them for their entertaining play.

On this post someone spoke of Liverpool fans singing about the Munich air disaster and how bad it is, which it is, very poor taste, but I went to Old Trafford last season and the fans were singing about Manchester City going down like a Russian submarine.

Both were tragedies which young people died in, so before we get on our high horse about, how fans from other clubs trash and abuse a tragedy in our past, we have to sort our own house in order. Fair enough that the submarine, incident how no impact on Manchester City, but to make up a chant about peoples deaths, is somewhat sick. The odds were that a Manchester United fan could of quite easily perished on that Sub. Food for thought! :(

Absolutely right HR, surely United fans have got more imagination that to make up any chants referring to any tragedy..... .......
