The 20-year-old striker is earning rave reviews in Portugal, where his performances for Porto have earned him the nickname of 'St Helder' or 'Postigol'.

Postiga has struck ten goals in twenty-three appearances for Porto in the league, as well as firing his club to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup with a further five goals.

Reds assistant manager Carlos Queiroz has confirmed United are interested in the youngster, and are hoping to beat off competition from Spurs to land their man at the end of the season.

(thats off fansfc.com, Teletext also quoted Carlos as saying:)
"It is true we have interest in him, we think he has potential to be a big star. But the question is, can he answer the questions and suit the interests that Manchester United ask"

anyone seen this kid, whats he really like?

I think the general point Carlos was trying to make in the interview was that United are not exclusively interested in the Sporting pair of Cristiano Ronaldo and Quaresma because of the partership with Sporting.
The interviewer seemed to be suggesting that United would definitly buy one of the two Sporting players.
Carlos said that the Sporting deal did not restrict the club in terms of targets and used Postiga as an example of this. He then went on to say that the club was looking at a range of young talent and that they had to decide which were the best possibilities for United.

BTW i haven't seen him play either, hopefully they draw the winners of Liverpool\Celtic so we get a look.
