Nadal to announce Wimbledon fate
Rafael Nadal is set to announce on Tuesday whether he will be fit enough to defend his Wimbledon title.
The Spaniard pulled out of this week's event at Queen's Club with knee trouble and is undergoing tests in Barcelona.
The 22-year-old is expected to reveal at around 1330 BST whether he will be able to compete at Wimbledon, which begins on 22 June.
Nadal, who beat Roger Federer in last year's final, went out of the French Open in round four eight days ago.
Speaking last week about his withdrawal from Queen's, Nadal said: "I have been having some problems in the past months with my knees that did not allow me to compete always at 100%.
"I need to work with my team to recover well, work on my physical condition to be at my top form and get ready for the grass to play at Wimbledon. I hope I can be ready to compete by then.
"I am really sorry and I hope that the people at the tournament will still want me to come next year."
Last year, Nadal ended Federer's five-year reign at the All England Club in the longest men's championship match in tournament history.
The Swiss star, who took advantage of Nadal's early elimination to win the French Open on Sunday to equal Pete Sampras's record of 14 Grand Slam titles, said the Majorcan's absence would be a blow.
"I was surprised to see him pull out of Queen's, and now the debate that he might pull out of Wimbledon is quite frightening," said Federer.
"I don't like to see it, because you want the best to be playing in the biggest events.
"I only wish him the best and I hope it's not true that he will miss Wimbledon."
