Quaresma, Deco and stuff.

Talked to this portuguese guy at work today about fotball, in particular portuguese football which he was more than willing to talk about.

He's a Sporting Lisbon fan and he said Quaresma is an awesome talent but is far from being the finished article. Apparantly there was no way he could replace neither Beckham nor Giggs NOW. And the comparisons with Figo are laughable, Figo's much more that just a winger whereas Quaresma is an out and out winger.

Further more he said that Deco of Porto and Simao Sabrosa of Benfica are by far the best players in the portuguese league, but are not United material.

I would agree that Deco is the best player in Portugal. He's half Brazilian isn't he?

I don´t think a signing of Quaresma is to replace Giggsy or Becks, rather be a backup and learn along the way and after a couple of years replace one of them.
I think he could be a great signing for us.

I think he changed his nationality to be able to play for Portugal.

I think so too, but there are tons of people in here who like to think Quaresma could just waltz right into the first XI.

Deco is Brazilian/Portuguese who changed citizenship so as to play national team football.
Good player, but quite small.

As for Quaresma, he will be a great winger. One of the best in the world. Just give him a couple of years (as I have stated before).

Well it's the opinion of one portuguese. There are many portuguese on another forum who rate him as having even more natural talent than Figo and their next world star...
