Yeah, not the first time I've heard this rumour. Red News has also reported Puyol is unsettled at Barca. Apparently wants to be paid more than the player who is his reserve (Reizeger) and has a buy-out clause of 15m. To be honest it was bound to come - linked with Reizeger a while back and now Puyol. <img src="graemlins/yawn.gif" border="0" alt="[Yawn]" /> <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />
 
He would be a good buy, i have seen him play about 25 times and every time he has been solid and can play at rb and cb.
 
Puyol is ligt years ahead of Reitzieger. He is the type of player Gary nevilee was at Euro 96. The lad is as solid as Gazza and much faster plus a better dribbler/crosser being Spanish. Pigs would fly if we can steal him from Barca.. :D

puyol surprised me last season ... but still, i wouldnt want him anywhere near old trafford

I think he'd be a quality signing, seemed to be the most consistent player in Barca's defence, but that is not saying much, and alot better than garry going forward. But I would never lose GN, and I dont think Puyol would sit on the bench. He aiint good enough to be a CB, so why we would bother try to get him if we didnt get Thuram doesnt make sense to me
 
Real Madrid fans want to see him in their whites. Puyol has grown to "top player" status in Spain, with Barca fans reckoning him as their best player last season and the rest of Spain (including Real Madrid) seeing him as a player capable of becoming one of the best defenders in the world if he isn't yet... This is the hype around him in Spain anyways, I've not seen him play much to judge.
 
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Puyol is fecking class. I'm amazed that he might want to leave Barca, but I suppose they haven't been too successful recently, and a lot of the players must be less than enthralled at van Gaal returning, so maybe he would leave. He's very young, but already better than Gary Neville, easily Barca's best defender, and one of the best right backs around - he certainly has a very good chance of becoming the best right back in the world. Perfect signing in my book.
 
If Puyol is regarded as one of the best in Spain then he is definitely only coming when pigs fly.....more likely to go to Italy than england.
