If, as indicated by the papers poo are interested in Bowyer and Duff, surely Danny Murphy is surplus to requirements. As an up and coming international and a left sided midfielder who scores goals he could be good back-up for giggsy.

I know, I am as loathe as the next Utd fan to buy poo players but I think this one could be a good move.

Hesky will never be Utd class.

Murphy could be though, he's quick skillful and scores goals. Just what a Utd player should be. He's also an English player.
Plus he would cost a lot less than the 20M talked about for Duff. I would love to have Duff, don't get me wrong. but for 20M!!!

If your point is 'Why pay OTT for Duff' then say it.....

But to justify your notion with a 'Lets buy Murphy' thread is bilge.

I'm only trying to put up some relatively realistic solutions to the Giggs-backup problem, without suggesting SAF bankrupt the club.

It is one of the most ridiculous suggestion I've read. Murphy is a typical old style midfielder who have bull power but minimum skill. What will come next? Barmby to backup Beckham? Actually I think getting Barmby is a better suggestion, at least he can backup BOTH Beckham and Giggs! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

quite right. he's no stranger to a fish supper, but technically he's excellent and up there with anyone in english football.

Murphy's a decent squad player but if Bowyer comes he should be benched IMO..

Just give him the odd game against easier teams....

I would hate us to buy Murphy. But I thought the idea was original, worth more than the knee-jerk gang-up replies it got.

I've never met even one little dog called Murphy, let alone seen several of them playing football together. But then, I've never been to Ireland.

Danny fookin Murphy play for Man Utd - Jesus H, I nearly choked!

He showed bags of promise at Crewe (he was exceptional in Championship Manager :D ) but has been absolutely shite ever since.

If it means him playing for Liverpoo for the rest of his carear then he can gladly score against us every time.

Murphy is useless. Next thing you know, someone will suggest buying Danny Mills. Both are thugs with little skill but bull power. Murphy will never be Utd. class and it is as simple as that. As for Heskey, he will never be Premiership class at all.

I dont care if hes a "thug" or not. Lots of "thugs" are great players, Keano for example.
The thing i dont like about Danny Murphy is that unlike Keano he is a totally inept football player.
 
If you offered us Murphy and Heskey for free and paid their wages, we still wouldn't want them.
