Weighing up Keane’s outbursts last season, coupled with him losing the World Cup plot completely is it time to park him up at Parkhead (Celtic). Just how disruptive might he become this coming season? When you factor in Butt coming of age in the World Cup it starts to make sense. Who knows it might even allow Veron to prove his worth without being grabbed by the throat everytime he makes a mistake. What do you think?

I appreciate your concern. And I would have laughed out loud even a few months ago. I'm not (IN A MILLION YEARS) suggesting that he's suddenly become a less than great player.... Its more a question of timing. Fergies done it successfully with the likes Ince and Robson already. No matter how good he is, if he's going to keep throwing his toys out of the pram then he's got to go....

good to know lad....but still, MFFM, you think you could at least change the thread title....most blokes here(especially the mods!) don't go past the title, that's why jedi master am afraid you're really in for it laddy..... ;)

MancCityFanFromManc, your talking out of your arse.

With regards to Keane's "outbursts"

Anything he said about Utd was spot on, and if Fergie wanted any of what Keane said not said, Keane wouldn't have opened his mouth.

With regards to the world cup fiasco, the FAI and McCarthy fecked up............a simple case of a small mans' ego not being able to deal with a footballers greatness.........

here we go........ <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Who do you suppose can replace Keane? Don't think for one minute Nicky can do it. As good a player as Nicky is he is certainly no Keano. Fergie can handle his tantrums but Keano needs to win trophies next season or he may well be on his bike.

thats bollox. Why go to the press then? We've always sorted things out internally. Keane's belly aching in the papers achieves rock all. I'm telling you he's losing the plot and I cant contemplate another trophy free season. Squad harmony and player confidence have to be protected.

If you want to talk about the World cup fiasco , fair enough, if you want to talk about Keanes interviews fair enough, but its bullshit to try and take what happened at the world cup and apply it to United.

Are you seriously trying to compare a ragbag organisation like the FAI with Man United, or Ferguson with McCarthy. For fcuk sake give me head peace.........

Keane does an interview and is asked: why do you think you won nothing this year?

What would you like him to say?
Um like I said we did our best, but Arsenal are better, so were Bayer "who the feck ever heard of them before now" Leverkusen.

or

We performed below our best......

To read between the lines, keane is saying we are the best team in England, we just didn't perform, and I for one think he was right, alot of players were off the boil.......

last summer he said things needed to be freshend up, did people start inferrring the guy had gone mad ??/

No doubt Keane was hurting after not winning anything, and rightly so, this man wants whats best for Utd, he has since the day he first threw on the jersey, your trying to say that he is trying to destroy squad harmony and player confidence.... what rubbish???

I suppose ferguson is just some timid muppet that is letting Keane have free reign??

I disticnctly remember the last time we won nothing i.e. 97/98 keane was out for the whole season pretty much.

Listen Roy Keane is the inspiration behind our team, when he is out we did not play the same last season, Butt maybe as talented in terms of ability but not in terms of stature yet in myu opinion, no one does for us what keano does, when he does not play people are always screaming we're missing roy keane, now your suggesting we get rid of him, for the purpose of team unity. You and i dont know what happened in the irish squad, we dont know why roy did what he did, but the guy obviously had his reasons! And for his outbursts last season, too bloody right, he spoke the truth and said what needed top be said, he aint a man that beats around the bush and minces his words, he is passionate, direct, to the point, hard and indeed our general on the field!

Consider what you saying when say roy keane out - just look at his performances in the first few matches and see then if you have that same opinion.

Why you all respond to someone who is evidently a scouse imposter is beyond me.

Keano is a legend and should stay if he is happy at united, the guy is only 30, the fittest 30 year old around at that. Yes fitter than Scholes, Butt and Veron. So maybe hell only be at his peak for another 3 years, who knows but he hasnt suddenly become less valuable at united. With SAF here for another 2 seasons, the one player who will definetely be here is roy keane. That aside, I have it from a fairly good source close to one of roys brothers that there is a lot of interest from Barcelona new manager for Keano, and that roy was seriously considering it, perhaps to escape the media mess that awaits him at the start of the new season.........

Yep, go to one of Spain's two biggest clubs. That would take the media off your back

Keano's performance at Leverkusen showed just how good he is. While the whole team panicked, he was the only one playing his game, passing the ball well and scoring the goal which almost got us to the final.

Put him to pastures? I'd rather put some of the fans here to pastures... ;)

I accept what you're all saying (apart from the Scouser in disguise bit - you can fox trot with that sh*te) but...

Look - Keane will go down as a legend - and all power to that but I think he's losing the plot. Great if Fergy can keep a lid on him and he continues to produce, I just think the current midfield 'could' prosper without him. Look at some of the football we played when he first got injured. Once we knew we didnt have Keano to dig us out of trouble we played some great stuff.

Everyone said the same about Ince when Keane was just emerging. who's to say Butt wont flurish the same way. Not to mention the fact that Veron owes us a big big season - and he'd prefer to not get strangled every week.

When you say things like "I can't handle another trophyless season" you gotta wonder though eh?

Aside from whether Keane should go or not, this rumour floating about the place concerning 2 of United's most influencial players leaving this summer could cast a question mark over Roy Keane's future.

To me and many of the posters on this thread, Keane leaving would make as much sense as a senile person. I can not emphasise enough the importance of Roy Keane in the heart of United's midfield, and to be honest, this rumour that apparently will unfold on the 5th of July makes me very nervous
