PSP Phone!

There's a new slimline PSP coming out, it was announced at E3. Sony trying to rake in more money. The PSP is shit, they should just leave it as it is.

Well, as a bit of technology, it's probably got about the same about of grunt as a Wii. For something you can hold in your hands, it's hardly crap from that point of view.

Obviously, not in the current design, I meant it should have been designed as a phone.

Ah good point.

That might have worked then. I wonder how big and thick this one will be.

Might be decent if they can make it kind of slim.

I'd play the Wii anyday over a PSP. It might just be me though, because I am not a big fan of handheld games sysems, they just don't do it for me. I had to play these things day in day out for 11 months, so maybe that adds to my hatred of them.

It's definitely a brilliant piece of kit no doubt, but I myself am just not into hand helds regardless of who makes them or what they are.

Sony hasn't really been on top of their game lately, their engineering is top notch - quality finished products, but their marketing and sales teams are really letting them down.

Sony should really have had something to compete with the iphone, their walkman phones dont seem as "cool" when pitted against the iphone.

I don't play handheld systems enough to buy or care about them. I owned the Gameboy Advanced when it first came out, used it for the 2 months I was travelling, then it promptly went into the drawer when I got my consoles back.

Well it is really. Because the UMD's never took off, and if you want to listen to music, just buy a decent iPod or MP3 player. The PSP isn't all what people make it out to be.

I have still got my PSP, never use it though unless im travelling. So probably a waste of money for me

Weaste I don't believe you even like the PSP. And you say that it should have been a phone from day 1? Being a computer scientist doesn't make you a businessman as I can see... Who would buy that. Yeah, I know, the ones who buy the PS3, those not so interested in gaming.

Look at the iPhone now and other video phones, it would not have cost them much to have placed a phone into the PSP from day one! I've always said that it was a stupid decision on the part of Sony.

Mobile gaming is a serious business, but people don't want to carry around a phone and a PSP. It was badly designed. It's the same as the PS3 having no video inputs and no decoder card slot. Silly decision that will smack them in the face in the future.

So, they should include a keyboard too. Dual analogue sticks. 480p display. Some Ati or Nvidia GPU which can decode HD conten. 40GB HDD and a giga ram. Linux and OF COURSE downloadable Games & Movies, screw UMD. Oh and don't forget to make it small, good battery life and at a reasonable price to compete with the best selling console at this time, the Nintendo DS. Right...

I think that you need to calm down. All I said is that they should have made it a mobile phone in the first place. is would have made a lot of sense. The same as when you are plugging the PS3 to be a home media hub, yet the thing cannot actually pick up broadcast video. Neither decision makes sense, because it costs actually nothing to put such features into the products.

Do you specialize in getting all worked up over nothing?

N Gage was a phone and handheld game console and it failed miserably
