On some programmer this thing keeps buffeting every 10-20 seconds making programmer unwatchable. This is wether I have it on HD or not. Anyone else have this problem? Any advice?

Yeah I had that problem too whilst trying to watch Top Gear, it was fine for 80% but towards the end it was hopeless.

Just trying it with HD on and strangely the buffeting problem is not as bad. It still does it every minute or so but instead of taking 5 seconds it's like a little glitch. This makes no sense. :wenger:

The PS3's wifi is shit. If I plug in an ethernet cable it runs fine, but over wifi it will sometimes just buffer for no reason. I don't have this problem with my laptop, phone or any other device on the wifi network.

I found that if it's doing the buffering thing, if I switch from hd to non hd or vice versa it's seems to wirk. Doesn't matter which way.

I have no problem with the PS3 over Wi-Fi. It's probably your set-up. Does your PS3 have a static IP address? Also, some routers don't like the PS3 over Wi-Fi for some reason.

Anyway, as I said, the implementation of flash on PS3 is not very good, you can blame Adobe for that. For example, stream a 720p movie over Wi-Fi from a media server, you will not have any problems at all - no flash involved.

I went to watch top gear on iPlayer on the PS3 the other night after hearing that the new seasons eps were quite good, only to discover that iPlayer had disappeared from my PS3.

Took me 10 minutes of googling and then pissing around installing 'PS Home' and other such shit to get it back. Bloody thing.

Streamed top gear in HD with no issue over wifi though, buffered very briefly at the start but that's it. Conversely I find streaming from a media server to be a right pain the arse.

The last time I tried the iPlayer on the PS3 (6 months ago), the quality was shocking on a HDTV.

Have they improved anything since?

The BBC iPlayer on the Virgin Media's TiVo box has a HD option which is pretty impressive for a stream, I was hoping the PS3 had the same function.

It's not a stream on VM, it's just like on-demand stuff, it's not coming over t'internet.

I was having this problem, iPlayer was unwatchable with constant buffering. That was wired, on a 10Mb connection.

I've just recently upgraded my router though and it works like a dream now, not a hint of buffering on HD. It might be worth looking at the rest of your setup if you're having problems.

I bought this router: Billion 7800n

It's fantastic and my wifi has improved dramatically too.

Was doing this to me earlier when trying to watch Top Gear, gave up and cracked it on the laptop.

No bother at all on that.

Through the PS3?

Ah no, you didn't specify. I don't bother with iPlayer most of the time. I just wait 24 hours and some kind soul will have uploaded an HDTV feed to torrents.

Then I stream it to my PS3 with PS3 Media Server.
