PS3 and AVI

To those that are in the know, how do I make my playstation pick up AVI when streaming? At the moment it will only allow MKV but most of my stuff is in AVI format....

I used to convert the files, but it's way easier to download a PS3 Media Server for you PC/Mac. Then you can play avi-files on the PS3.

.mkvs don't work on the PS3. Or at least they never used to.

I gave up on streaming because I got to many files that lagged when streaked. I find it easier to use a data stick or my external hard drive to move files.

I'm on a mac and using JAVA PS3 MEDIA SERVER v1.10.5 and the PS3 doesn't pick up the avi's
