Looked at the papers this morning reporting great financial results , looked at the bench tonight , thought hmmmm ....

I think we need to smack our wallet on the table., and assets in the squad not the bank .......

Had a look at the accounts at work this morning. Things aren't as good as the papers make it out to be. They're alright, but they aren't great. The problem is cash. Essentially we've paid Independiente in cash for Forlan, and we've forked out a load of dough to Leeds. Now we really need the cash that Lazio owe us, just to be able to pay Leeds next year.

I'm not sure we can stump up the cash to buy another striker.

Of course we could always do a Lazio and not pay.

If Lazio owed United 12 million for Stam, then why the hell didn't they use that money to buy Nesta or Crespo? Heck, Nesta would have only an additional 13 million.

Well i agree with both sides of the discussion, i think we HAVE to get another striker, that is a must!

Its also true that while we would all like there to be cash unlimited thats just simply not the case. No matter which way you look it Man Utd have spent alot of cash in recent times and not a lot has come in, i really dont know if there will be enough cash for a big money striker to come in any time soon.

i know cash is king ..and admitedly I havnt seen the accounts , presumably borrowings are under control, Carrington paid for (?) ,as are the developements at OT (I presume ) so a little borrowing might be in order if needs be ...most prudent business have a little gearing dont they ????, we have a very assured income stream every other week , large Tv monies too , the sort of security bankers need .... and if the Arse can getrelatively obscure people arelatively cheaply ( allright Jeffers was their mistake ) and make them stars why not us .... Forlan Im afriad isnt goin to make the cut , Fortune is a sound mid table sort of player , ditto Chadwick ,We need to augment , invest a little more for without success what then .....

..I`d prefer my assets live and in the squad, selling the shirts to the Far East etc than cash interest or meeting dividend payments etc....
