You do get games where it is almost unplayable but the majority of the time ive played it its fine has the odd jump here and there but the match doesnt get ruined.

I'm telling you Fifa 08 is better than Pro Evo 2008.
However if were talking numberless here, Pro Evo 4 > any football game ever.
Fifa is so incredibly unrealistic though. I mean, nothing about the dynamics of the gameplay even represent anything close to real life football. Pro Evo may not have the licence deal or the graphical content that Fifa does but in terms of accurate gameplay and for more of a simulated experience of football in a game, it's not even a close deal. For someone to take Fifa over PES, one would simply have to prefer the more arcadey style, rather than actually believe that it's a truer representation of football on a game.
I'm sorry but that's rubbish.
Fifa is far more realistic, the way the players move, the positions they get themselves in, and the shooting system...never mind Gks that dont parry every shot into a strikers path.

They haven't, though. I play both and am completely critical in picking out negatives in both games, however, quite simply Fifa's gameplay once again lets it down. Forget the features, blah blah blah, the gameplay is the standard of this argument and Pro Evo once again won.

You can't be serious? The game play on Fifa 08 is superb, yes, a few things could be improved, but it's as realistic you can get! and thats what matters most to me.
What makes it an arcade game? Its FAR from that actually. Its the most realistic football game that has ever been released imo. The speed, passing, shooting and the AI is spot on.PES 2008 is 3x the speed of REAL football, that's what you call "arcady".

If you truly believe that you can accelerate at about 300m/s², take on every opposing player on the team then shoot from 30 yards and score easily with someone like Olof Mellberg then you've absolutely lost it!
This FIFA is called a football simulation for a reason.
In all fairness, you're probably just not very good at it which is no disgrace because it's a hard game.
I've always found Pro Evo to be incredibly easy when you've played FIFA, but people who have played Pro Evo can't get out of the "take on every player on the field" habit and as a result, they just can't adapt.
I used to be able to play PES4, 5 and 6 every day for a year, just playing a few exhibition matches a day - I played PES2008 for 1 week and then deleted it (Not being able to play on more than low graphic might have had something to do with it, but overall it just didn't feel like PES)
I hadn't played FIFA since the 99 version other than a few demo's here and there, I then decided to try out FIFA08 and I rather liked it, more than I liked PES2008 anyway - I played it for about a month before I grew tired of it and eventually deleted it - a feeling I never had with PES4, 5 or 6.
I'll probably never be able to play a football game for more than a month any more like I did with the previous PES titles - Unless Konami get their finger out and actually start caring about the game again.
That being said, all these FIFA vs. PES discussions are so incredibly stupid, let people play whatever they want - people don't have the same taste in games, and who are you to tell them what to like and not to like?

The FIFA gameplay might seem unrealistic to some, and the PES gameplay might seem arcade-like to others - but this is not your sisters or a United player you're trying to defend, it's a bloody video game, and people are entitled to their own opinions as long as they actually enjoy playing the game.
And all this "fanboy" shit is a load of crap as well, so because someone likes a game you don't like then he's suddenly only playing it because of its name? It might just be that he doesn't agree with you and actually find the said game very funny.

Unless people think taking on the whole team with a centre-back and then scoring is realistic. Not to mention the speed of the gameplay being like a game you would play in an arcade. Konami even admitted they released a poor game, i just hope they get their act together for PES 2009.
