Whilst at a local charity shop I came across a great collection of three CDs of old time music.

With about a 100 songs, it included great music like:

"Ain't Misbehavin'" - by Fats

"Stormy Weather" - Ethal Williams

"Isn't it Romantic?" - Carroll Gibbons

"Puttin' on the Ritz" - Fred Astaire

"Goodnight Sweetheart" - Al Bowlly

With artists like Armstrong, Ellington, Basie, Holiday, Calloway, Trenet, Coward, Crosby and many others, it was a tour-de-force of old music.

Out-of-fashion and not to the liking of most people now (sadly), it was brilliant music. Great music, great talent. I'm reasonably familiar with this type of music as I'm a Jazz fan.

Any of you out there with a wide enough listening tastes that indulges this type of music?

How about Billie Holiday?

I mentioned Holiday.

I've been a big, big fan of both Billie Holiday and Edith Piaf for a long time. It a kind of music on a different level and world.

Nothing like them around now or for a long time.

The fact that no one knows who some of these artists are anymore, and can't appreciate their music, goes along with a well-established belief of mine that people are idiots, or at least don't try hard enough
