Yeah that's true but it wasn't to be taken seriously.
Having different forms is fine, it has worked for cricket in bringing casual fans in but I love the original form and I can't see any new format interesting me.
Settings like this are alright for a gimmick but there isn't anything that drastically wrong with the sport. A lot more people would become fans of it if they could stop the likes of Ebdon grinding his way through matches and boring those who are either new to the game or don't play it personally. I believe if that was fixed there would be no problem.

The sport has been dying on its arse. Bad management and lack of competition more than anything, but there's still plenty that could be done
Some of the rules of this new format seem too gimmicky, that said I've not watched any of it. But the idea of playing for half an hour and it being determined by points... why not?
Ebdon is my favourite player by the way
Just like any sport, snooker needs variation and different characters
So this is how people felt when one day cricket came about. I enjoyed it for its novelty value and can see it killing test snooker.
Whether that's a good thing or not is probably my age speaking.
