Power ballads - the thread of them

Bon Jovi are the band for power ballads. Always, Bed of Roses, I'll Be There For You, Thank You For Loving Me, Living in Sin, the list goes on and on.

wtf are you doing in the General bsc?

That's 2 threads in one evening...

I was walking to Sainsbury's from my office this week & there was this guy on a Harley waiting at the traffic lights with Bat Out of Hell blasting out from his bike speakers (you couldn't make it up!). The noise those things make I doubt he could hear it unless he was stationary. Idiot...

Is 'November Rain' a power ballad?

The song does nothing for me, but I like the bit in the video when it starts to rain and a guy who, instead of calmly looking for cover, decides to dive through the wedding cake to safety. Utterly pointless, but amusing.

No, it's self indulgent garbage. In fairness, the band are acting under the direction of Axl "The feckin' Fruitloop" Rose.

Most power ballads are committed by bands with tongue solidly in cheek.

Not Axl, though.
