Like other team sports. Players are depend and relate on each others. To come to the point. I will use volleyball players relations to reach theirs goals and achieve good result on the pitch.
In volleyball. You don't and will not have a good perfect smash. If the set up ball to the smash is not precise and poor. Like in this video:
And another example is form United manager ex period with Ajax. Where he bought Dusan Tadic to feed and set up goal chances for his teammates and special Haller. Like in this video:
Then United are linking with Eriksen, De Jong and Martinez.
+ First we take a look at L.Martinez from the deepest. How and which situations will appear at United and Old Trafford:
+ Now we take a look at Frenkie De Jong. His relations to his teammates and how he will set up his teammates up:
+ Now Eriksen. 1 minute and 30 second into this video. Perfectly like a volley set up. A perfect crosser hit the CF head.
+ And to the last potential future relation in Raphinha. Look how Raphinha set up and found his teammates?
There you have all the possible and pontential relations at Old Trafford
A CF success is depend and rely on the top service he got from his teammates. Just like others team sports like Volleyball, Handballa and Basket
And with the top consistent service of Martinez long trough ball from the deep. Assist and trough ball from De Jong, Eriksen and Raphinha. Those relations and top consistent service will life easier for United CF and attacking players.
Its where the reasons why Ole and Ragnick didn't had success with United. Unless Ole first period and the period when Bruno first joined the team.
I am 100 % convince. With those relations on the pitch and top consistent service. United CF will score over 20 goals a season not including the penalties.
If you are sharp and clinical infront of opponent goal and inside the box. Over 20 goals is a realistic goal and target for the CF.
Sum up. Like others team sport. The perfect set up, crosser is equal important as a smash and a tap in and goal. The finisher is depend and rely on relations and support of his teammates. And the level of the support has to be at top level and consist as possible. Not consistent as volleyball or others team sport that are using hands and fingers to set up. Football is naturally more difficult to be consistent as others sports. Because using feets will never be as precise and consist as fingers. But the point is the same. You and your team need a perfect pass foot and crosser.
Reason why Ten Hag bought Dusan Tadic when he bough Haller from West Ham.
I did recognized when Haller was playing for West Ham. I didn't rate Haller as a flop as West Ham. Just because i saw the qualities and level of his current teammates at that time.
Ten Hag saw it. Ten Hag didn't judge Haller isolate was a poor or average CF. Coming to Ajax. With the service and relations to Dusan Tadic and his Ajax teammates. Haller became ch.league top scorer in the group rounds.
So if you are a manager can see it. It will be one of the reason and factor you will succeed. And if you only blame on a player. But doesn't see the bigger relation and picture. The depending on each others = the relations on the pitch = the collective. You will lower the chance to succeed.
And in the end. Some players just have a better pass foot and crosser than others. L.Martinez, Eriksen, De Jong and Raphinha. Beside theirs isolate ball skills. Like dribbling. They have a really really good and precise pass foot. Like showing in the videos above.
Now sum up the relations and how they possible will be line up in a 433 formation:
Martinez -----------> trough ball from the deep ----------> Ronaldo&Rashford & United attackers
De Jong & Eriksen -----------------> trought ball and crossers---------Ronaldo&Rashford & United attackers
Raphinha ----------------> trought ball, down the line and 45 angle passes----------> Ronaldo&Rashford & United attackers
Potential line up in 433 formation:
Raphinha/Sancho - Eriksen/DVB/Levitt - Fred/Garner/De Jong - Bruno/DVB/De JOng - Sancho/Martial/Garnacho +
CF: Ronaldo/Rashford
Again. Relations are there for everyone to observe. Mutual success on the pitch. Is mutual depending and need more than 2 ingredients and factors to succeed = A good perfect set up & crosser + A perfect smash and sharp clinical finish
