They are a class above us and it showed today. Still happy with how we responded in the second half and loosing 2-1 to the best team in Europe isn't the end of the world.
Real Madrid are a class above but we weren't as bad as some made out on here. Matic, Smalling, De Gea and Valencia did well. Had we buried our chances it might have been a different game. Nobody in the PL will be on this level.
Surprisingly, we actually probably should've taken that to extra time at the very least. Crap finishing as usual, Lukaku and Rashford at fault. Completely outclassed from 15'-55' but responded well and played well for the 2nd half. Fellaini changed the game in our favour.
Good game. Was a lesson in game management from Real. United seem to have something about them this season and we should be able to go some distance in the champions league. Matic and Hererra need to get up to full fitness soon.
All in all, I'm glad football season is back on and things are looking good
All in all quite happy. Were outplayed at times, but also matched them for long periods. Best team we will meet all year, so looks good. Created chances enough to score three at least.
Matic was good. De Gea, Rashford too. Smalling better as the game went on. Pogba had a poor game, but he'll have one every once and again.
Lost against the best team in the world. Theyve been playing as a unit for years, we've been in a constant state of flux for 4 years. That result and the obvious inferiority are what I would have expected.
Dire, clueless, awful in defense most of the time. Had Rashford buried his chance (not that I blame him, he was still our best player in the second half and gave a lot to the team) it could've been a pleasant night.
Real the better team, obviously. For all their huffing and puffin though, we had plenty of clear chances and a draw wouldn't look out of place after 90min.
