I'm not even surprised or angry with this anymore.

Picking up PL points obviously not the priority at this stage and it showed. Well that and having a few players out there that shouldn't be at the club.

Looked miles off the pace. Did our players forget to put studs in their boots?

The build-up to this match was clear: It’s all about Thursday. The big question was whether Bayindir would prove himself worthy of starting that one as well. In my opinion, yes – I still want Bayindir in goal for that match. He had decent control and distributed the ball well up until the mistake. A mistake I choose to chalk up to rustiness.

Losing Zirkzee is a bigger blow than just dropping 1 or 3 points. Let’s hope he can be patched up by Thursday – the alternative doesn’t exactly give me goosebumps.

The upward form we’ve seen lately has included a full-strength team. We’re at least a preseason and a summer window away from being where Newcastle are now – a place where rotation here and there doesn’t disrupt the machine.

I’m both dreading and looking forward to Thursday. Is Zirkzee fit? Was this a clever move by the manager? Will Højlund start, or will we see an experiment like Mount up front?

I choose to focus on the positives we’ve seen in recent games, including this one (Zirkzee, Amass, Yoro, Mount is still standing).

Come on, folks – let’s get behind the lads now. We can see they’re giving it their all, even if not everyone has a future here!

Don’t know how we can give up these simple goals.

And the less said about out attacking play the better

Ok-ish first half despite a terrible ten minutes but that second half we were all over the place. Can we not do tactical fouls?

What the hell was with every player of ours slipping and the Newcastle players being fine?

Always annoying to get hammered, but at this point, I don't care, we know were crap, it's about just getting these games done now for next season, i'd take losing every game here on if it meant winning the Europa

Nobody can be surprised by that performance when you see the lineup.

At least two of those players shouldn't even be in the Premier League. Eriksen and Lindelof finished at this level.

3 best United players today:

1) Bruno
2) Zirkzee
3) None

3 worst United players today:

1) Bayindir
2) Mazraoui
3) Dalot (made an assist, but was absolutely terrible the rest of the match)

They're not a better team than us technically in a few areas, we can say Isak and Tonali are for sure.

They have better athletes and engines like Joelinton we're just far off it.

We are not a premier league team, our squad would be great in La Liga where you can play and have more time.

We need great athletes that can run for an entire game and we just don't have those players

Started well, then when Newcastle scored it looked like they would just overpower Utd, great goal out of nowhere changed the momentum. Second half was one way traffic, just couldn't compete physically.

Or it was the refs or something.

Unreal poor, really hope Ruben & the scouts have some very decent players lined up for the summer cause this 'team' needs some serious feckin upgrades.

Exactly the kind of game we struggle with. Very physical.

Our passing and slipping at inopportune moments piled on the misery.

Shit to lose Zirkzee as well.

Season will be over soon. Big summer training camp ahead.

The result didnt really matter

But the manner of the defeat speaks volumes.

Going to be difficult to pick these cowards up for Thursday.

Weren't dominated, but offered nothing, our goal was our one attack. Players only looking backwards. Amass did alright, but didn't see him forward. Bayindir did alright until his errant pass. Yoro motm. No-one was awful, but no-one did anything. At all.

Thought we’d lose but really didn’t want to get battered 4 1. That was the worst performance since the restart. Newcastle were far too powerful for us and didn’t Leo that we made some stupid errors in possession. Zirkzee’s injury was a blow too as we don’t have loads of options up front as it is.

The team needs to be fired up for the big game mid week now. There’s a lot of pressure to win that.

Only a few games left thankfully. Hopefully the margin of the loss doesn't impact Thursday.

I lied. Lindelof. Lindelof was awful. Sweden captain shouldnt play for us again

I wasn't expecting much seeing the starting lineup but I'm still surprised we give away such simple goals. Really hard to compete when you're making silly errors. Lindelof was terrible and shouldn't be leading our back line ever again.
