When you're actually in game, it displays the player's name at the bottom of the screen, and a bar beside it that lights up green, yellow, orange or red. What does that actually mean, as my cousin lost my bloody manual?
I'm pretty sure its the attacking/defensive setting. You can change it in game as well, L2 + R1 if I remember correctly.
Red means most attacking and vice versa.
That feature is still included in recent Pro Evos! That's the one I was going for, thank very much.
SiYuan, I wasn't talking about those bars, but thanks anyway - odds are, that would've been my next question! See what happens after two years of not playing it...
The green is the player playing at the most defensive level. The red is the player playing at the most attacking level. Computer automatically updates this according to the situation i.e. if a player has to defend, or if a player is taking someone on. You can manually change it too using some combination of the R's and L's.
Alternatively just read the guide provided with the game.

Sorry didn't know. I still play Pro Evo 1 when my friends come round for a laugh. Usually am Brazil with Radolno up frontMeaning I hadn't played any video games at all over the last two years. Back off the wagon...
I always set them to manuel control in the tactics screen as I hate it when they put it too defensive if your winning in the last 10 minutes.
Your always under pressure if the other guys on red and your on green.
