Could I suggest an automatic image resize script that reduces the size of large images and you click on them for full effect?

Could and have, whether or not it will be successful remains to be seen.
That will be a complicated php script though, since most of members put the image between the img tag from an external source.
Another option is suggest members to put the image as a thumbnail

I have seen it work, successfully on another forum, I will try and get a hold of the script.
Go for it, sounds like a good idea to me.
