It's true. Thanks for waiting for me to create the thread

Congrats to all our Portuguese posters!

Congrats.

On paper their record is very good (or bad?): semi finals, semi finals, runners up, semi finals, champions.

Congratulations Portugal - good to see a "small" nation winning it.

An honourable mention to the great Eusebio - he would be so proud.

Despite a rubbish team winning a rubbish tournament I am happy for Ronaldo, Nani and the portuguese fans on here. Congratulations :)

Congratulations. :)

I'll say what I think of the way you won it in other threads so not to ruin this one. But you won't care about the way nor you should care. :)

And I guess you deserve it since you were close so many times and didn't win it. Portugal national team is a big time player and it was bound to happen you go all the way.

thanks for shitting up the entire competition.

...jk. congratulations on the win. must feel extra satisfied after the heartbreak 12 years ago.

Portugal have suffered a lot of heartbreaks in the past. Just like Spain before 2008. So happy for them.

Congratulations to all our Portuguese supporters. Well deserved!

This was the tournament when the underdogs stepped up and won games. Passion, commitment and team spirit instead of individual brilliance. Portugal eptomises these things and after Ronaldo was injuried the Portugueese team showed the world that they are not a one man team.

Still. I'm so happy for Ronaldo. He's a true winner and his passion helped his team mates when they missed him on the field.

I was living and working in Portugal 1983-84, great people, friendly and with warm hearts. You deserve this.

:D:D:D

So happy it finally happened. Eder scored a great winning goal, no Ronaldo, amazing. Very gracious of Refcafe.

Stockwell is crazy right now.

Doesn't feel real really. Saw a post on facebook that was a bit apt, "Portugal are like that lad at uni who never turns up to any lectures but gets a first"

Glad it's happened to them. Not for this team, but for all the talented teams that fell short.
