LA CORUNA, April 24 (DS) - Deportivo La Coruna player Aldo Duscher told he is much criticized for his notorious tackle to Manchester United skipper David Beckham whose participation in the World Cup is still under question, reported The Daily Record. Beckham's foot was broken but Duscher insists it was more injury to him that to England's skipper.
"This is the worst period of my life. Everyone is persecuting me - referees, football fans and the public. I don't know if I can handle it anymore. The spotlight has been on me all the time since the Beckham incident and I feel like I am close to a breakdown because of it.
I can only hope that Beckham recovers fully in time for the World Cup and then maybe I can get on with my life," said Duscher who disagree with the referee who booked him during Deportivo's defeat to Valencia, "The referees recognize me now and they are singling me out. They are punishing me for offences, which other players would get away with. It is wrong."
