Not yet, but he will be.
I honestly believe that Veron has played well for most of the season. At the start people and pundits were raving about him, since however he has had a few poor performances in key matches and can get lost in frenetic prem battles as he hasn't fully, yet, adjusted to the pace.
We should though compare him to other huge money signings from over the summer all of which we would have loved to have made. Who wouldn't want to have signed Mendieta of Nedved last summer? and yet Seba has been a far greater sucess than either of those two. Also about eight weeks ago Zidane's sucess, overall, at Real was less than Veron's at Old Trafford. Veron is a top class player who, for the most part, has done well for us. If we think he's a failure then maybe we overestimated the impact a big money overseas star could make in a quality settled side like ours?
If he was a failure then surely we couldn't recoup the money we spent on him? and yet it's obvious that his value hasn't depreciated meaning that he could have played that poorly for us. He's been a good player for us but no player is ever going to stand out when surrounded by Giggs Becks and Keano as these three are as good as anything in Midfield in the world. The best players in the world can only ever hope to "fit in" to our midfield, they will never "stand out" as Roy Keane (who's controlling style of play is a little too similar to the way Veron played at Lazio, negating, to an extent, Seba's impact) will never look second best to anyone.
