What was once a very funny movie was whipped to death by a studio looing to milk it for all it's worth. The original I thought was great at the time, and it will certainly have potential to be brought up to date with a bang. This is one that could go either way, but I'm looking forward to seeing it. Can't see any big name movie stars signing up though!

Nobody will be able to replace Michael Winslow. They'll probably just do it with sound effects which will be pathetic.

I hate remakes, especially of 80's films as they have their own uniqueness (the day they remake gremlins or short circuit is the day they don't get another penny from me). Yet for some reason Police Academy is a film I'd love to see remade, it has potential as long as they don't copy every aspect of the original

I just don't think a remake would work as well as the original...it'd be the same with a remake if Airplane!

I would leave his character out alltogether.

Infact, reading between the lines in an interview with the new director they will not be "remaking" it and it won't be another sequel. I hope he goes for all new characters in the Police Academy setting. Some brand new wackyness could be a real good laugh.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we don't wanna look at Kim Catrall anymore.

The only way they can redeem this is to use genuinely funny comedy actors that are on TV at the moment. Instead they'll use some twatty teeny turds.

I agree. If they use a good really original cast with really original characters and storyline set in the Police Academy it could potentially be pretty funny.
