From now on please don't call Forlan, Diego as that is a huge insult to the greatest player who ever lived (Diego Maradona). My patience has just about run out with Forlan as he has scored just 1 goal in about 30 games for United (and that too from the pk spot). This guy is more like Ade Akinbyi. In other words total shite. I pray to God we get Shevchenko or Tristan in Jan even if they are cup tied cause they are world class players worthy of donning the Man Utd kit each time they play.

Where's your heart man. He's a trier, he's fun. There just such a buzz at OT when he comes on the pitch (Don't suppose you've ever been there have you). Its like comedy hour at the pub.
Come Jan. I expect Fergie will buy another 2 strikers, and poor old Forlan will fade into our memories, but so what.
As the gut next to me at the Olympiakos game said - when Diego scores in open play there'll be 68,000 people all having an orgasm at the same time. Just wait and see ......

It's not his fault his name is Diego, and if we sign Diego Tristan are we allowed to call him Diego?

Don't call May "David", as it is a huge insult to David Beckham. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

What the feck are we supposed to call him if we can't mention him by his given first name? What a bizarre request.
Maradona, and I agree he was probably the best of all time, is not the only person on this planet named Diego you know.

Well, I think he doesn't LITERALLY mean that we can't call him "Diego", he is trying to illustrate the fact that Forlan is crap IHO. I will still be patient, but I can certainly understand why others have given up on him... we can't keep using the same excuses over and over again. Sure you can say that he isn't being given enough first team action, but then again, it is expected that Forlan EARNS his place in the starting line-up. So sooner or later he just has to live with the fact that most of his chances to show what he can do are as a substitute and he'll have to perform. If he continues to fail in this department, he WILL be a failure of 7 (or what was it again?) mil pounds and he will fade away like the guy above said. That's not being a flamer or a gloryhunter, that's reality I'm afraid.

Well, to be fair to Forlan, I believe he is a good player but rather unfortunately he's probably got a case of "poborsky illness" and just can't seem to settle down well at OT. When he moves on, he'll probably do extremely well for his next club.

You seem confident he wont finish his career at OT, Ichk. Dont you think theres a chance he might see out his playing days with us? ;)

Poor Diego Forlan - having to share his first name with that coke inhaling, cheating, nasty little piece of work Maradona.

Manchester United should never have bought an untested winger for 7 million pounds when it could have tried its own youngsters who are strikers on the bench. I think part of the problem is any new buys for MU are assumed to be of the high quality needed to even sit on the bench with the depth of the squad we have.

Diego will be good - for another club, a club that is not in the league of Manchester United, Arsenal etc. However, he has a great attitude, is willing to learn and is unselfish - a real team player. It is not his fault that he was unrealistically expected to fill a gap in the Manchester United squad.

I want to see him stay and do well but despite the hysterics of some pro Diego supporters, one can like Diego but being objective, cannot see him fulfilling either a striking or winger role regularly and successfully at this club.

He will obviously score eventually. Most players in the team do. But I don't believe all this hype about an avalanche, and won't till it happens. Swallows and summer etc.......

I've learned from life that it's best not to expect too much then you don't get disappointed.

(My other name is Eeyore.....)

It was in the 1984 CWC quarterfinal - and it's not true that he did nothing - after Barca went 3-0 down Diego had some splendid dives in and around the area - the crowd was shitting it's load that the ref would finally fall for it - but all his appeals were rightfully ignored...

I see you watched the game in such great detail that your not even sure who he was playing for.

BTW it was Barcelona.

Call him Frank instead. Makes perfect sense...

Be on your way now.
