I'm toying with the idea as a new lappy would be my 5th in 3years.

I have a 32inch telly which would obviously be the screen, but is it a sensible idea? Does it have a web browser? I don't play games on the pc and only really use it for storing photos, video :nervous: and music as well as using the internet / reading email. I don't suppose you can get msn directly on playstation 3 because it's owned by Microsoft?

Enlighten me geekazoids.

Well at least you won't be able to ruin your PS3 by constantly looking at porn

Get yourself a 1tb external hard drive for £130 and a ps3, clear all your junk onto the hd so the laptop isn't clogged up and you will have the best of both worlds.

My first Porntop broke when I slammed the lid and it corrupted a file. Was looking for a new en anyway as it was a bit slow.

Second one I ended up selling.

Third one was a dell, good laptop but it overheats

Got offered a better dell (off the back of a wagon) which was class, until I got drunk and spilt something on it... and now it won't start so now I'm using my old one.

I dislike desktops because I don't like the idea of sitting at a desk all the time whereas on porntops you can move around

Yes, the XMB has one, the machine also runs Linux if you install it.

So, if you want messenger, is there a client for Linux?

Right, so would I still need an isp (I have BT) or is the 'Playstation Network' an isp itself?

i had an acer. it used to overheat like feck. you couldnt put the laptop on your lap otherise you'd get 3rd degree fecking burns. thank god i got a new one. now i can rest the laptop on my lap safe in knowledge that i wont get burned.

The PSN is just a service on the Internet that Playstations can connect to for online gaming, the Playstation Store, and in the near future HOME. You use your ISP as normal, the XMB web browser or one in Linux if installed does not require you to be logged into the PSN. It just works like any other computer.

Cool, sounds good.

Any good exclusive 3rd person shooters on the way?

Get yourself an external firewire or usb II hard drive and buy yourself a PS3... then eventually you can install Linux (Fedora or Yellowdog) on your PS3 and use your external drive too...
