I know this question probably has been asked and answered thousands of times, but I've been thinking about setting up a network game with my flatmate when the game comes out, and I'm just curious to how easy it is to do this, and how fun it is to play against a live person.

Won't there be shitloads of waiting when you have multiple players?

And how does multi-playing work in FM?

Do we both have to be online to play?

playing FM network is not quite fun because each of you will have a different time range to search, set up teams etc. If one of you hasn't click Continue, the other to wait.

The setup is quite easy though, just make sure the computer that would be the game server start FM first before the client.

Yup usually after 30 or 60 seconds. It can take a few hours to do pre season what with all the transfers etc.

What? Why will it take so much longer with say, two players, compared to one?

I understand it if you and all your mates are playing, but is there a performance problem related to network playing?

its because when you press continue, you have to wait for other players to press continue aswell all players need to be at same time in the game obviously. so if you have someone spending half an hour pissing about with tactics etc.. and youve just pressed continue after 2 mins, you will be waiting along time,

Will probably help that we will be sitting five meters from another then.

There is a FM on the net, i think its called Sunday league or something

There's nothing more fun than playing network FM with mates, most preferably one mate to save time. Yes you have to be patient, but it is so much more prestige in the game with bragging rights to it. More real to compare your skills to a person who actually lives.

Make sure you turn off the 'move matches for tv' option if you are playing a network game. This makes sure that all kickoffs are at the same time, and so you and your mates can play simulataneously and cut out a lot of the waiting.

Nice to get some positive feedback. He's an Arsenal supporter, so I guess winning the title will be both harder and more satisfying.

Great tip. Thanks.

With all my experience of FM and manager games, mainly networking, I somehow didn't know this invaluable trick. Thank you very much.
