Active or retired. No friendly goals. Only goals against Prem/la Liga/Serie A/CL teams to keep a certain standard. National team goals count if the opposition is ranked in the top 100/not friendly

Kevin De Bruyne
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Thierry Henry
Morten Gamst Pedersen

Who else?

Is this supposed to be a modern thread, or do pre-PL count?

Anyway, two who should be automatic are Charlton and Nedved.

Without double-checking, I'm fairly certain Toure, Cristiano, kaka, Pedro, Nedved, Dembele, Zidane, Villa, Raphinha and Gerrard have all done both.

Messi's scored about two right-footed shots from outside the box in his entire career, which makes it all the more remarkable he once met the thread criteria in just one match against United.

Brehme had a reputation for shooting free kicks with either foot. I think Thomas Hassler might have occasionally done the same.

I'm pretty sure this is a far, far longer list than you expect.

Marcos Assuncao
Roy Makaay
Lubomir Moravcik
Lorenzo Amoruso
Santi Cazorla
Simone Verdi
Michael Ballack

Did Greenwood ever do it?

He must have, guy was lethal with both feet.

Hojlund may be a surprise entry here. I remember his goal against Spurs last season was with his right after a run, not sure if it was outside the box when he shot though.

Ryan Giggs scored a belter at Coventry in 96/97 with his right foot, very weird, never saw him hit a shot like that with his right again. In fact only 3 of his league goals were with his right.

First player I thought of was Forlan in his La Liga days.

Nani had it in his locker for us too.

You can add Charlton, Tevez, Ronaldo (obviously) Giggs, Forlan and Nani to the list of United players who’ve done this. I’m sure there’s a bunch more. Veron? Ibra? Falcao? Schweinsteiger? Mkhitaryan?

I reckon this is something that has happened a lot more than the OP thinks.
Even Antonio Valencia did it I think.

It's funny that you say that cause he popped to mind for me too but I don't think he did.

I think we are both conflating the goal he scored against Everton with another cracker he scored against Blackburn. The Blackburn one which was left footed was from inside the box.

Mandela effect

You can’t kick the ball hard enough with both feet at the same time, to score from outside the box.

It's downright common, I should think.

Someone really should have Michael Essien, though:

He scored a worldie with his left against Stoke in 2018, but it was inside the box.

Eriksen did it a lot when he was in his prime playing for Spurs. 30 goals with his right foot and 22 with his left foot in the league. Some of them from outside the box. Pretty equal if you take out the free kick goals.

Yes, especially if we consider that not all goals scored from outside the box are great strikes. Plenty will be one-on-ones slipped past or over an advancing 'keeper when played through with the shot taken from inside the D and rolled into the net.

Every prolific forward has a good chance of having done it.

Edit: Anyway, just to test the theory I've been watching through this and RVP's first right-footer from outside the box came from goal 40. Not a one-on-one but nothing particlarly special about it either. He of course had quite a few with his left. Sheer weight of numbers for regular goalscorers will do it for a lot of players.

It was actually his goal against Stoke with his left foot I was confused about. I thought it was outside the box but it was just inside:

Edit: Just scrolled further down saw you meant the Stoke goal too. Mandela effect indeed!

I think it's cause those 2 goals were both so out of character with the goals he scored.

I actually prefer the Stoke one although I think the Everton one got more attention. It's absolutely beautiful.

Mane. didnt't care much about which foot he shot with.

Salah has done it too, but I can only really think of one with his right foot.

It's the way he strikes through the ball so cleanly, the technique was perfect. The Blackburn goal you mentioned is probably my favourite Valencia goal though, you'll rarely see a similar goal, and it was really important for our title race.
