There's nobody down here mate!
Carroll - 5 (should have done better at the goal and his distribution is poor)
Phil - 6 (distribution also poor but worked hard on both sides of the pitch)
Rio - 7 (not much got past him)
Larry - 7 (cool and some good forward runs)
Micky - 5 (not on long enough)
O'shea - 7 (did you see that nutmeg? this kid just gets better)
Becks - 8 (total effort, like Keano)
Seba - 5 (very dissapointing, too many wayward passes and loses the ball too easy)
Keano - 8 (awesome, but a twat for letting a dickhead like McAteer get to him)
Giggs - 6 (I know he scored the goal but he looks fat and slow to me this season.)
RVN - 6 (I think he's left his shooting boots somewhere)
Ole - 6 (a couple of early shots then faded)

I might be being a bit mean seeing as we totally dominated the match, especially in the first half but it is getting very frustrating. Lack of goals when we created so much is a big worry. The injuries are not helping but come on boys, what happened to the strength in depth?

veron 5 ?
Have to disagree. He played very well in the first half. The 8 for Becks and Keano are too high imo.

Carroll - 6
Phil - 6
Rio - 7
Larry - 7
Micky - 6
O'shea - 6
Becks - 7
Seba - 7
Keano - 7
Giggs - 6
RVN - 6
Ole - 6

I don't think P.Neville should get higher than Carroll, and I would definitely prefer O'Shea at centerback. Not that he did badly today, but he's not that quick of a lad and his good heading is better utilised in the middle. And Beckham did only okay today. It's a little worrying about our defensive cover though.

Carroll - 6 nothing spectacular ok game
Phil - 6 lacking ideas
Rio - 7 steady
Larry - 7 assured
Micky - 6 wish he'd have stayed on
O'shea - 6 coped well
Becks - 7 average game for him
Seba - 6 what is he thinking? all those wayward shots and passes
Keano - 7 played well then lost his head :o
Giggs - 6 didn't threaten much poor final touch
RVN - 6 a yard off the pace didn't get a sniff.Well shackled by BABB? ,pleeeeese :(
Ole - 6 absent in the 2nd half

:o

Carroll - 6
Phil - 5
Rio - 7
Larry - 7
Micky - 6
O'shea - 6 only b/c he's not a fb
Becks - 7
Seba - 6.5 his shots my word
Keano - 7
Giggs - 6
RVN - 5.5 - did nowt
Ole - 5.5 - two early shots and done

RVN seems tired already and its only 3 games into the season. Fergie needs to stick with 2 up top to give him a bit of a breather and get stability back again.
BIG mistake not buying another attacker.

Ruud always looks tired. Don't worry about him, he worked his arse off as usual today.

How many goals has Ruud scored in the past month or so?

The poor bloke doesn't want the pressure of having to score every time he plays.

today he already worked with Ole.
I think he is not on form, as simple as that. You can't expect a striker is 100% and bend in goals all through the year, that's why top teams need 4 strikers to rotate.

Carrol: 6
P.Neville: 5.5 (Absolute a disgrace. He has no right to ask for a starting place.)
Blanc: 7
Rio: 7
O'Shea: 6.5
Beckham: 7 (Work very hard and perform his standard)
Keano: 7 (excellent work rate, should be 7.5 or 8 if not for the silly red card)
Veron: 6.5 (good work rate, but once again no contribution when we need it most)
Giggs: 6.5 (has a nice goal and some good flick, but fail to beat any opponent all day)
Ruud: 6
Ole: 6

It's a serious situation we are in now - silvestre out and no full-back cover except for youngsters. O'Shea is not a right-back, he needs to play in the centre of defence and dislodge Blanc whom I felt led to the Sunderland equalizer because of his poor man-marking.

The Sunderland right winger took United apart until they put neville on him in the second half. He then never got one cross over. Phil's crossing, when he did it, was far better then Giggs though I might be a little harsh on Giggs. I don't think he actually got a cross in.

He had two very ugly challenges and should be red-carded. Besides, he always looks suspectful when ever he was going to head the ball under pressure.

You must have watched a different match than me. Giggs was awol after 30 minutes. He didn't do anything after the goal. Keane's contribution was not that great either.

I thought Veron played some superb passes and his class was on dislay yesterday for the first time in ages or has your judgement already been decided for you regarding him?

Becks played a class game, Larry was cool and Rio made me feel confident about the defence for the first time in 14 months.

Your comment about Phil Neville is a disgrace. You obviously don't like him and wouldn't give him credit for anything. I thought he did OK, he certainly was not a disgrace. That's a stupid comment.

T dont know what the man has to do to please some of you..
Veron was excellent in the game particularly in the first half. His distribution was 1st class and thats why in the first half keano continued giving the ball to him. Give the guy a break. So what.. he hit some shots off target.. at least he has got the balls to try, not like giggsy who seems scared to shoot.

Who scored for us ? <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> . But as I already wrote, I think too that Veron played very well in the first half.

I agree Veron played some nice passes (but superb? which one?) and his overall workrate was very well. But I still think Keane played better than him as he was everywhere and some of our best chance in this match was created by his dashing into the box, while everytime Veron had a chance he shoot the ball into the moon's orbit.

If Giggs didn't score a goal, I'd only give him 5.5.
About P.Neville, see my comments above. He should have been red carded before Keano.

IMO, the gaft of the game was Keane not passing to wide open Becks in the Sunderland box. That would have resulted in the 2nd goal.

Caroll. 7. Another good performance.I bebining to think he is an excellent keeper not just a godd one.

Phil Neville. 7. Worked hard but deserved a red card.
Rio. 6. Had nothing to do fro the entire match and was cxlearly not fit. else nuthing got past him.
Blanc.8. Back to his best.
Silvestre. Not on long enough
Becks. 7. Worked hard thenm frusttartion took over.
Veron. 7. Passing was excellent. Just his shooting. Well I have no words to describe it.
Keane. 9.5 Wht the point five? The man was sent off for elbowing.
Ole. 2. Did nothin g all game and his shooting was like Veron's. Abyssmal.
Ruud. 6. Still a long way off his best but he kept plugging away.
Giigs. 8.5 He played well untill the last quarteri which he was awol.
Subs:
O'shea. 8. The lad is good imo. Nest and Rio
watch out :D
Forlan. Will Fergie ever learn that Forlan can't change a game over two minitues?

As a team. 4. We where to disjinted and seized to funtion as a unit as thematch progressed.

thus says the chief.

I thought he put Giggs thru for the goal.
