all the above not much to do but mainly did what they had to well
Beckham 8 cracking free kick ran his heart out
scholes 8 terrier like again yesssss
keane 9 MOM(IMO) ran his heart out covered the whole pitch seeing his face in the tunnel before the game you knew he was up for it
veron 7 a few good touches coolness
giggs 7 A relatively quite game again by giggsy got into a couple of good scoring chances
ruud 8 ruud is ruud
Ole 8 always scores
diego 8 never scores but boy did he come close
o'shea 7 solid as ever

Carroll 8
neville 7

Beckham 8
scholes 8
keane 9 MOM(
veron 8 (very close to man of match)
giggs 6
ruud 7
Ole 8
diego 7
o'shea 8

Is Ruud determined that Giggs shouldn't score? That's twice now he's robbed him of a virtual certainty!

And at one point, why was he friggin' around with that ball instead of putting it in the net!

Carroll 7
Neville 7
Rio 7
Blanc 7
Silvestre 7
Beckham 8
Scholes 8.5 for first half
Keane 8
Veron 7
Giggs 6
Ruud 7
Ole 8
Diego 8
O'Shea 7

A lot of players didn't have enough to do or enough time to shine, so I've given them 7. Scholes would have been by MOM, but since he went off, I'm not sure who to give it too. Maybe Beckham or Keane.

Carroll 7
neville 5 (Caught out of position several times at beginning of game. Poor passing).

I've probably been to generous to Veron actually, considering the constant overhitting and lack of passion. More like a 6 or 6.5. To say he was close to being MOM is a joke. Veron was invisible except for his overhit through balls. Scholes was world class in comparison.

CARROL 7 - mearly a spectator
PHIL 7 "
RIO 7 " - nice debut though
BLANC 7 "
MICKEY 7.5 " but pushed forward very well
GIGGS 6 very frustrating, poor finishing and crossing
VERON 6 good 1st half but let himself down in 2nd
KEANE 8 what can you say .... solidity touching on excellence
SCHOLES 8 very effective in his less-favourd position
BECKS 9 everywhere passion, skill and fight MOM
RVN 8.5 getting even sharper

OLE 8 pure quality
DIEGO 7 sooo unlucky his time will come, good for the team
O'SHAY 7 same as the other CB's

RRRRRROOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL on sunderland

yea he didnt put giggs clean in on goal did he

Giggs had plenty of chances to score...he's lost all confidence at the minute. He's not the player he was ...he is afraid to take on a man and beat him the way he did a few years ago.
Giggs owes us 2 good years..and he knows it!!!!!!!!!!

Agree (mostly) with Gulli

Carroll 8
neville 8 (good match for his confidence)
rio 7

scholes 8
keane 9 MOM
veron 8 (very close to man of match)
giggs 6 (frustrating)
ruud 7
Ole 8
diego 7

amusing that (when I checked) Blanc was the only player on 0% on the official MOM vote

There was a point where Giggs would have scored had Ruud squared it.

And there was another point where last year Ruud would have made an instinctive finish, but tonight he took too long and tried to turn.

He just seems a bit less certain this season, hence the caution, and the attempt to score himself when Giggs had a better chance.

But no matter - he gets and creates so many chances, it will all come right.

Carroll (1.4%)
P. Neville (0.2%)
Silvestre (3.3%)
Blanc (0.7%)
Ferdinand (4%)
Beckham (28.6%)
Veron (10%)
Keane (11.9%)
Giggs (5%)
Scholes (5%)
Van Nistelrooy (26%)
Solskjaer (1.2%)
Forlan (2.4%)
O'Shea (0.2%)
From that poll at time of my vote for Beckham.

come on it was 5-0, dont you think your nitpicking abit

Ruud was looking to lay it on for others alot because it was so easy

Beckham had a good first half but faded badly...His inability to use his left foot was shown yet again

dont bother mate hes a windup

Fair enough, but wasn't that a deflection?
Don't get me wrong ...he was outstanding in the first half but I think that he is in need of a rest..the World Cup came too soon for him.

So???

What does that have to do with Ruud seeming a bit less confident than last year?

(And clam down? Is that something like a hoe-down, but near the coast?)

How many has Ruud now scored since season started? He scored 8 in pre-season too. Its just he's that good that we expect him to score several each game. I'll settle for one every game. ;)

maybe because he ran his bollocks off for 60mins and played like he had a point to prove

Calm down,man!!!!
Anyway, Roy Keane runs his bollocks off every single time he takes the pitch...he never tires and he always plays like he has a point to prove.

In case anyone thinks I'm knocking Ruud.

there were a few people who were chanting its just like watching citeh on the way through the airport after the 1st leg and questioned if becks gave more for england than united

thats why he was well up for this one and ran his self into the ground while still feeling the effects of coming back from a broken foot

You expect me to stop smiling on the day I touched Andrei Kanchelskis?

You should understand that, in some people's eyes, Veron never overhit any ball. It's just his teammates can't read and control his "great" passes. ;)

That's quite right!

bravo to all the Players! why always made comparison to Scholes & Veron? both of them are Manchester United player and both of them are outstanding in the game.

Carroll 8
Neville 6.5
Silvestre 7.5
Rio 7
Blanc 7
Beckham 9
keane 9
Scholes 8
Veron 7
Giggs 5.5
Ruud 7

Though Carroll kept his concentration very well considering how little he had to do. Did well with a freekick in particular that could have been nasty.
Giggs IMO was abysmal. Constantly ran into blind alleys and constantly gave the ball away. Desperately need to put some pressure on this guy.
Veron was looking like he was gonna have a stormer the way he started the first 20 minutes. Faded badly in the 2nd half and gave the ball away a lot.
Ruud - 2 goals but its plain as day that he's starting to get frustrated playing this formation. Lucky not to get booked IMO

"i missed the game. did giggs playy that bad?"

He is clearly not at his best at the moment. But at least he tried some things yesterday. I don`t think he played so badly as some think here. I would give him a 7.

Giggs did run into a few alleys, but all wingers do. As long as he keeps trying to beat a man.

Beckham worked hard. Posh is due to drop soon. If his form goes as well as when Brooklyn was born we're in for a good run.

Phil Neville is worth a mention. Very steady and got forward alot. A good confidence booster.

Veron was very good. A lot of through balls were a fraction off, when he gets those right he's going to be unstopable.

Keane's gone attacking mad. He must have been involved in 80% of our attacks, and involved in all our best passing moves.

Rio didnt have a lot to do, but was very vocal and took control - and boy do we need that!

Everyone else did well too, very professional and plenty of hunger.

Happy Bunny Manc :D
