Barthez 7.5 - very good and started attacks for fun
G Neville 7.5 - back to good old form already
O'Shea 8 - very good
Blanc 7 - did nothing wrong
Silvestre 6 - seems to have lost his great early season form
Beckham 8 - by far the best I've seen from him this season, is Gary the answer? He should've scored tho
Butt 7.5 - as always, no need to say more really
Veron 6 - spot the difference when he was brought off, tho he made a few great passes
Giggs 7 - a few good runs but nothing truly special, tho it was a Giggs run that created the match winner
Scholes 9 - last season is no more for mr Scholes, better and better as a forward and amazing as a midfielder, the second goal gave him an extra .5
Ruud 7 - was there to create the chances but failed to score, could've got a hat trick, very good penalty as always

Ole 8 - fast and creating, him on and Scholes as mf won the match for us

Forlan, P Neville - to little time, tho Phizza deserves credit for setting Scholes up for his second

Barthez 7.5
Gaz Nev 8.5
Blanc 7
O’Shea 7.5
Silvestre 1
Butt 6.5
Veron –500000
Scholes 8
Becks 6.5
Giggs 6
RVN 6.5
Soslskjaer 6
Forlan 10
Phill Neville 10

Fab 7.5 - good distribution
G Neville 9 - Outstanding. commanding, probing, the right hand side looks so much more secure now.
Larry 7.5 - handled Campbell well
O'Shea 8 - great game. Looks more assured with every game.Rio will have to fight for his place back.
Mickey 5.5 - consistently beat in the air & a lot of the attacks came down his side. carrying an injury?
Butt 7.5 - good game against evertons 'dogs of war' shielded the ball well, used it well.
Veron 6 - few good passes early on then went completely missing. no surprise he was taken off.
Giggs 6.5 - frustrating. got into some good positions then wasted the ball.
Becks 7 - how did he get MOM? he was truely awful in the first half, kept giving the ball away. Something wrong with him..carrying an injury?
Scholes - 6.5 for upfront/8 when moved back to CM.
made things happen 2nd half. can find the space (to deadly effect) when defenders are looking to mark Ruud & Ole.
Ruud 7 - good link play but awful finishing. How he missed that one on he chested down i dont know. Last year he would have buried that. Again, looks to be carrying an injury.

Subs:
Ole 7.5 - made things happen. Everton were scared of him. made the penalty. Gave Everton something else to worry about, which crucially gave Scholes the room to hurt them.
Phil 7 - not on long enough for assesment really, but gave him a mark simply because his first tackle broke for Scholes to score.

barthez 6
g. neville 7
blanc 7
o`shea 8
silvestre 6
butt 7
veron 6
giggs 7
beckham 8
scholes 9
rvn 7
ogs 7

Barthez 7 - Calm and composed
G Neville 7 - Did well coming forward
O'Shea 7.5 - Excellent at sweeping up at the back
Blanc 6.5 - Was caught flat a couple of times by Ronny (?) in the end.
Silvestre 5 - Seemed nervous coming forward
Beckham 7.5 - Tireless. Ran his bollocks off, and Gary's presence def. improves his performance. Should have scored when he hit the bar, but then again he ran like 60 yds to get to that ball.
Butt 6.5 - Looked a bit tired in the end, but very effective performance.
Veron 5 - Well...
Giggs 5 - Abysmal last touch
Scholes 8.5 - MOM. Looked like the only United player scoring. He'll be crucial this year, with Veron on the bench!!!
Ruud 6 - Upto the 88th minute, did very little and almost seemed resigned. Clearly unfit.
Ole 7.5 - Excellent pace to setup the penalty. Should have flicked home Becks' low cross when still 0-0 tho.

"Becks 7 - how did he get MOM? he was truely awful in the first half, kept giving the ball away. Something wrong with him..carrying an injury?"

well some people seem to disagree (MOM). IMO it was his best PL game of the season.

"Scholes 8.5 - MOM. Looked like the only United player scoring. He'll be crucial this year, with Veron on the bench!!!"

Well, Veron was our best player in CL so far.

He's been good against slow teams like Maccabi, Olimpiakos and to a certain extent Bayer. I'm not sure he'll shine against better, full-court pressing teams.

fair enough, opinions differ but IMO Scholes and Gary Nevile were the 2 best players on the pitch last night.

Congrats Mancs

A home win in the league...AND not 1-0..

If you can keep this up you may lose your "boring" tag...

;)

So does everyone agree yet that 28m for Veron is ?

He has one "good" game every 3 months? and everyone then praises him and say hes quality and worth every penny, next game, hes as good as phil neville.

:)

Finally watched this match yesterday and here are my rating:
Barthez 7.5: Seems the old Barthez is coming back
Gary 8: Return to top form. Didn't put a foot wrong and good at coming forward.
O'Shea 7.5: Very stable.
Blanc 7.5: Same as O'shea
Micky 6: one of his worse games
Beckham 7.5: run his socks off. his best match this season.
Butt 7: Stable. nothing special
Veron 6.5: no obvious contribution and is rightly substituted.
Giggs 7: An ordinary match for himn.
Scholes 8: Should be "7" if not for the 2 brilliant goals.
Ruud 7: not enough supply as lone striker.
Ole 7: immediate give impact when brought in.
Forlan, Phillip: too little time on the field to give any comment.

are you guys saying that Butt, Giggs and o shea played better than veron? he had an ordinary game, same as the rest of the team , excluding scholes,....i agree he deserved a 6, but i think he should nt get the lowest score.

Ruud 8 ,coming back from injury, kept pluggin away,NOT everyone can be that confident from the spot(cough cough Shezza).
Becks 6,certainly not mom imo,the way he falls to the floor constantly is a brass :o
Fab 8,bloody good, clean sheet job done(I dont care if he runs naked along the half-way line if he keeps the ball out)

Well player rating is a subjective thing so don't need to concern it too much even if your opinion is different from others. BTW, Veron was substituted with near half an hour left, and that should have told you something about how he performed.

Becks worked his arse off the whole 90 minutes, he ran as if there is no tomorrow and certainly had a good game, looked sharp and fresh.
I don't know if he was M0M but he deserves more than a 6 for his performance vs Everton.
I have never seen a star of his stature (that's a nice word what does it mean ?) that works so hard during a game, except for Ruud perhaps.

Eyal Berkovic.

Seriously.

Well maybe not.

Does a neat trick with his hand and throat though.
