This was discussed a week or so ago and we are now ready to go.

The design and programming of these applications has been done by Ryangiggsisno1 who many of you will know from his years on here. The player rating application was developed by RG from an original idea by Neil Thompson. It is hosted on my site theatreofdreams.net and we have set up a support forum on which you will recognize quite a few posters from on here who are mods and/or just hanging around to piss RG off ;)

The url for applications is http://www.theatreofdreams.net/game/index.php where you will need to register and specify if you want participate in one or both of the applications. There is no on-line documentation so you will need to also register at the forum to get news/updates and help if you need it. The url is http://www.theatreofdreams.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

Player rating application: This will enable us to gate a huge amount of rating data for each player per game. There is scope for expanding what it does to include assists, completed passes etc but for the moment it is simply a basic player performance rating application Veron 6, O’Shea 8 etc etc.

Hyperpix: Is a tipping competition (for points not money) and it is a great deal of fun. There are up to 4 Hyperpix matchdays per week for you to play but they are usually posted some time in advance so you can usually login only once a week and make your selections for the following week. You will also be asked to select the matches for the competition at some point in the future. There is quite a bit too it so you will probably need some help via our support forum. There is also a team aspect to the game.

The forum will automatically accept you once you register but misbehavior will result in the application of the banning stick. In particular we will not tolerate deliberate disruption of the player rating application. Most recent European and EPL games are ready to be rated and we will get the Blackburn game online as soon as possible after the game. There are 3 public forums
Hyperpix: for discussion/help with the two applications,
Wine Snob: a rather strange Anglo/Italian hybrid concerned with fine food and wine and Manux399’s obsession with Marmite, and
Quiz forum: where we will be running a variety of football and other quizzes. There is one football quiz at the moment but there will be developments in this forum shortly.

Please bear in mind that these applications have been programmed in people’s spare time and we are looking at the rest of this season as a test for a full public outing next season (at the risk of sounding like a scouser). Constructive criticism is welcome but mindless slagging is not. If you need a definition of constructive criticism then please PM Dans.

Finally thanks to Niall for allowing us to announce the launch on here.

In hyperpix the key concept is the Matchday.

The matchday is a collection of games where you are requested to post your predictions,called pix, for the final result.

Right now there are 2 open matchdays, DAY1 and DAY2, the former will close in half an hour as it covers ten games scheduled for today.

The games are selected from a panel which covers the majot european LEagues, i.e.:
English Premier League
Bundesliga
Serie A
Le Championnat
La Liga
plus the major Eufa tournaments
Champions LEague
Uefa CUP
UEFA 2004

once you're registered you simply have to go into:
HyperPix------>Matchday----->Post your Pix
to post your predictions

you can review all others' pix in
HyperPix------>Matchday----->Post your Pix

and see your score in
HyperPix------>Score----->View your score
or
HyperPix------>Score----->View all scores

the table is in
HyperPix------>Tables----->Singles Table

formore detailed questions on the scoring rules, the bonus scheme and many other facts please refer either to the mailbox
hyperpix@theatreofdreams.net

or register at the forum which Wibble specified, and post questions in the hyperpix forum

well or not,which is irrelevant, the italian matches were less than the EPL ones.

We lost and Christmas is around the corner. People could always rate the Poo and Arse games when we were good.

right now there are 30 registered players, of which 10 new. Doesn't look bad to me.

Only 4 people have rated the players performance for last nights game so far though.

only the overall rating is compulsory.
Whic is what you get in View Ratings.

Other ratings are optional, i.e.you can leave them blank.

birmingham data have just been imported

right now, there are 45 registered users, of which:

30 enrolled in hyperpix
36 in UPR

54 users to date...

and check the new animation on the HomePage

Portsmouth available to rate.

And Hyperpix is hoting up. Marching and RG have made a breakaway but there are only 2 points between the next 5 places.

Wib,

In the ratings section, the matches are not sorted - or maybe sorted, but not by date.

Want to have a look and change it a bit?

same site, under "Utd player rating" you will see "post your rating" and click on it.

You go in:

HyperPix---->Matchday----->Post your pix

in that page there's a combo which contains the matchdays available at a given moment for pixing, precisely those which are in an "open" status.

You have combos containing 0 to 7 goals for both teams, for all the games which have been selected for that matchday.

At the end there's a pictoresque button, whose meaning isn't actually that to feck off the players, but the story is quite long to explain....

I'll post it sometime soon .....

hope this helps

you're right, they're sorted by game id...

I'll sort them by kickoff date...., it's the correct criterion.

Any other idea, comment, suggestion, I'm your man....

Done.

Both in Post your rating and View ratings the games are displayed in the selection combo, sorted by kickoff date descending, so you see the latest first.

I'll do the same as for the View Performance, but I'll probably have to change something in the logic there, so I'll do it in the next days.

for the Player Rating I'm considering a series of enhancements and further developments.

first thing I'll add is a
View rating per player
where one will be able to select a given playuer and see all the ratings he got in any game he played by all the posters

the existing one will be renamed
View rating per game

thanx, it did help.

yesterday when i went in this option wasn't available (Post your pix)... are there specific days in which you can post your pix? Or did i just miss it myself?

Another thing, how come there are more French games than EPL or Serie A? Or does this go at random to test the knowledge of participants about football?

i meant where to input the scores pix. but thanx anyway!

the ratings input is a little bit too complicated for my liking TBH. There are too many columns to fill in.. can't i just input the general rating i would give each player?

for example "players' behaviour".. it's too difficult for me to know this since i'm never at the game and only watch on TV.. as we all know TV don't show every incidents that go on at the stadium by all the players.. many dissents shown by players are completely missed sometimes.
