This was discussed a week or so ago and we are now ready to go.
The design and programming of these applications has been done by Ryangiggsisno1 who many of you will know from his years on here. The player rating application was developed by RG from an original idea by Neil Thompson. It is hosted on my site theatreofdreams.net and we have set up a support forum on which you will recognize quite a few posters from on here who are mods and/or just hanging around to piss RG off
The url for applications is http://www.theatreofdreams.net/game/index.php where you will need to register and specify if you want participate in one or both of the applications. There is no on-line documentation so you will need to also register at the forum to get news/updates and help if you need it. The url is http://www.theatreofdreams.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
Player rating application: This will enable us to gate a huge amount of rating data for each player per game. There is scope for expanding what it does to include assists, completed passes etc but for the moment it is simply a basic player performance rating application Veron 6, O’Shea 8 etc etc.
Hyperpix: Is a tipping competition (for points not money) and it is a great deal of fun. There are up to 4 Hyperpix matchdays per week for you to play but they are usually posted some time in advance so you can usually login only once a week and make your selections for the following week. You will also be asked to select the matches for the competition at some point in the future. There is quite a bit too it so you will probably need some help via our support forum. There is also a team aspect to the game.
The forum will automatically accept you once you register but misbehavior will result in the application of the banning stick. In particular we will not tolerate deliberate disruption of the player rating application. Most recent European and EPL games are ready to be rated and we will get the Blackburn game online as soon as possible after the game. There are 3 public forums
Hyperpix: for discussion/help with the two applications,
Wine Snob: a rather strange Anglo/Italian hybrid concerned with fine food and wine and Manux399’s obsession with Marmite, and
Quiz forum: where we will be running a variety of football and other quizzes. There is one football quiz at the moment but there will be developments in this forum shortly.
Please bear in mind that these applications have been programmed in people’s spare time and we are looking at the rest of this season as a test for a full public outing next season (at the risk of sounding like a scouser). Constructive criticism is welcome but mindless slagging is not. If you need a definition of constructive criticism then please PM Dans.
Finally thanks to Niall for allowing us to announce the launch on here.
