Player improvement under ETH

I am trying to think if any of our players have noticeably, genuinely improved over the last 12 months (not counting new signings or ones who have left!) and struggling.

You can maybe make a case for Maguire who has looked reasonably solid. And one or two others who are at least around the same level as last season - Antony, Bruno, Dalot. Have any kicked on and reached a new level?

Conversely it is easy to think of some players who seem to have gotten worse. Rashford, Martinez and Casemiro all jump out.

This is one of my concerns about the WTH era so far. I am not in the ETH-out camp (yet), but hypothetically if we did get a new manager, what do they really have to work with? It doesn’t feel like there are ANY really shining lights in the squad that a new manager could build around.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and I don’t think it’s just an ETH problem. I can’t recall any player who we’ve brought to the club since SAF left that we’ve demonstrably improved. Usually we find players come here and regress, or at the very best replicate some of the levels we bought them at.

it’s a huge problem.

There aren't any. Maguire is playing better now and seems to slowly be getting his confidence back but he's not better than he was during his first two seasons here.

Even when a player starts showing promise and there's signs they could improve and become an important player, they soon go off the boil and eventually blend in with the rest of the dross.

The culture at the club must be rotten. I imagine players turn up each day and go through the motions, then as soon as the second hand hits whatever time training ends, they run to their cars and feck off home to do something they actually enjoy

AWB massively improved. Our full backs generally have. Bruno is much worse and the rest is about the same.

Rashford last season was a work of art. But he's terrible this season. Like everyone else.

AWB, like Rashford, merely returned to their level. ETH deserves credit for bringing their confidence back. Not sure about improvement.

AWB became a force going forward. He'd been completely written off but under EtH he was moving the ball quickly, constantly making runs, dribbling.

There isn’t any, in fact a lot of them look like they’ve gone backwards under him.
