My review on the PS2 version a while back..
Playboy Mansion – PS2
The Playboy Mansion is effectively “The Sims”, but instead of an invisible god like figure, you play Heff, which the game lets you know at every loading screen that Heff, according to the game, IS a real life god figure.
Aside from the fact that my copy would not work for a few times, the game starts relatively quickly. You are given a small mansion, a woman to use as you please (literally), and a little bit of money so you can work your way through the first through missions, primarily getting your spank bank of a magazine out. The aim of the game is obviously be the best – best editor, best lover etc. The idea of the game is a good one – to get more money you must publish a better magazine – to publish a better magazine you must hire staff and improve their charm by talking to them and keeping them happy. Then (for the randy 13 year old among you), you can have blurry sex with a FAKE woman.
For people purely buying this game because its ‘playboy’, then yes, you’re in luck – there is nudity. Horrible, blocky, blurry pixilated nudity.
Now I just want to point out, Playboy Mansion isn’t a bad game, instead it’s a game you feel stupid for playing. I would fully understand if people looked at you funny for playing it, because when playing it, you feel just a little bit wrong. Its one of those games at Uni I played with my door shut, because I didn’t know what people would think of me. Honestly, just go and buy the Sims. You feel a lot less dirty, and your mum will still respect you.
Game Scores, 1 word sum up and buy or not to buy..
