Well we all know the editor of the Mirror is a fanatical Arsenal fan and for my mind I think he has made a concerted effort all season to de-stablised the United camp as much as possible. I'm not saying that this is the reason for our failure to win trophies, but most of the vitriolic media press against Fergie and Veron has been started and continued by The Mirror. The swearing report on Fergie made the backpage on the Mirror a few days before the Arsenal/man united game. The fact is, Fergie very often swears in press conferences as do quite a few other managers, so why make a big hahoo now?? Because Piers Morgan wanted to make Fergie mad...to depict him as losing it...then on the other hand, or other page...show just how calm Wenger is. This was a media game...and we all know it. No one has berated Veron like The Mirror has. Ok, so he hasn't had a great season, but he is not crap...and loads of players take a little while to settle..just look at a few of the Arsenal players from two years ago..a couple of them played crap and then came good.

I just think The Mirror purposely targetted a media campaign against Fergie and United in order to create unrest in the camp and to aid the calming nerves of Arsenal. I think Arsenal deserved the title. If we had not lost an away game and had won 11 or so on the trot, well, I would expect us to have won it... The reason Fergie got mad...just like other managers have done in pressed conferences and sworn...is because he knows exactly what some journalists are out to do...based on the allegencies to what the Editor wants to expose, even if the story is not true.....

Phew, got that off my chest. Piers Morgan is basically a wanker as far as all we United fans should be concerned...believe me..

Anyway United fans should boycot the Mirror, which is really very arrogant at the moment considering its paper of the year. The trouble is what is the althernative paper..the Crap Sun LOL!!!!
 
A bit harsh don't you think. Can't really imagine an entire newspaper getting on the case of just one team. Especially someone like nobhead Morgan from the Mirror.
 
Feckin hate Piers Morgan.

Do you know he was in the United end at Barcalona in '99?. ONe of us could have had the ticket and supported their club, not some ABU.
 
The Mirror is so obviously anti-Man Utd. I hate it, its disgusting. Are they the ones that are banned from Old Trafford press conferences?

The Daily Mail has been accused of this also, but I read it regularly and its coverage seems pretty pro to me but not biased. I like it.

I run a papershop so I read alot of crappy journalist crap.
 
Oh boo-hoo, so one paper is ABU and you suck arses gotta complain. United get preferential treatment all over the fcuking media, right down to international broadcasts. You have fcuk all to complain about. If anyone has a right to complain it's LFC fans, no matter what their club does it gets minimal press compared to what your overexposed bunch of poofs gets day in day out. You lost, of course you're going to get negative press, and guess what? Veron sucks scrote big time and was a colossal waste of money, so he deserves getting slagged, along with your foul mouthed manager.
 
There was a pretty good article on SAF in yesterday's Mirror. Complimentary even.

Gee you sound so jealous. How did you manage to sound so jealous with just words? As for Fergie swearing - man it was only an 'F' word. EVERYONE swears once they get to a certain age. Dont pretend that you dont or your mum and dad or Houllier or Thompson or even cute little Owen.

They ALL swear. Even Paisley. Lets see if your opinion of Veron is the same after the world cup shall we?

Like the Spice girls, the press like a good story, they build em up and knock em down. Thats what we are to them.

i don't usually give a shit about wot the papers say but after WC '98 and Morgan's "hilarious" dartboard, he went on my list (and yes...i have a list <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> )
