Yes, I dip in/out of your draft threads & am always impressed with the extent of knowledge & analysis. You've been at it a while though now, isn't it? - .
CONDITIONS
1 - Teams are of 12 players in a strict 4-4-3 formation. Just to allow every type of player being able to get into every team. Y'know, you need left & right footers, you need a proper DM or 2, there's no excuse for not having a couple of pure flair players because that can be covered. You can be flexible where you locate your wingers but you are going to be picking some width somewhere or other I would have thought.
Up front, you could have 3 out-and-out strikers if you like or two wingers & a narrow 4 or square in MF. Equally just one up & 2 at '10' is possible. It's just a get-around OK to make it more about personnel than tactical set up.
Because
2 - I'm setting a limit of 240 international caps for the whole team. Again, splurge it all on acouple if you like & then use your ingenuity & knowledge of those disgracefully underrated by their countries & Steve Bruce. Older players maybe won fewer caps, the newer ones haven't finished yet. let's say this balances out.
3 - Nationality - Everything counts, so no hiding your 'duals' please. No more than 2 from any 1 country.
4 - Names - No more than 2 players starting with the same letter, mainly because of the Brazilian R's I think. Roberto Carlos & Santi Cazorla are both 'C' would be my basic belief, most are pretty obvious isn't it, so NO 'CREATIVENESS' with this please.
I'm just interested. And thought this was the place to come to see what could be done. You can all pick at the same time (the 2 of you that bother) I don't think it makes a huge amount of difference due to the fairly strict rules / overall flexibility.
It might be a ridiculous exercise, I don't know. I was only asking.
