For those interested here goes...

Seat was in 'M' stand which was suggested by a GP going friend....great seat on the top row left corner (next to track) gave a great view of cars coming into the chicane and then going on past the swimming pool.

After the race the place emptied quickly...

I went on a track walkabout...certainly not supposed to but it was cool as long as it lasted!

The biggest boat in the pic belongs to the guy who owns Force India F1 team...Phillip Green (Top Shop boss) owns LionHeart that can be seen

Monaco is not your average shopping town...shop selling private jets and helicopters at €5 million

Damn, you lucky bastard. I really hope I can go to such an experience one day. If only I won the lotto the past weekend...meh

Awesome stuff Marching, glad you enjoyed it mate - not that there was ever any doubt you would!!

Those chicken wire type fences are a bastard for auto focus aren't they? My mate and me kept reviewing our pictures at Monza to find a perfectly focussed fence with a blurred car behind it! Top row of the stand is perfection, looks like you had a great view :)

It was a trip of a lifetime...seat I had was perfect as was the whole day!

The fences are a pain in the arse...I have lots of perfect fences and blurred cars if you want a few more haha....the noise was incredible too..I had ear plugs and didn't think they were working until I removed one...it soon went back in!

F1, cars, boats, sunshine, Monaco...all add up to my dream trip and I can't wait to go back...just need to run it past the missus

can I ask for a ball park figure of how much it would cost for a weekend there?

There's no getting away from the fact it's expensive but then it's not something you're going to do regularly.

I'm not sure when Colin tried to book for Nice but £700 suggests it was late...I booked up a while ago and paid £200. On top of that I stayed in an appartment in Nice for 5 nights which cost around £100 a night and the race ticket (Sunday only) was £450. Plus food/drink/taxis/trains...

Bloody hell...wish I'd not answered you now...it adds up doesn't it! :wenger:

Brilliant, I'm super jealous. I can't wait to get to another GP, it's an incredible weekend.

If you want to try a different one I'd definitely recommend Monza, the Italian fans make a simply awesome atmosphere and the place itself has a real aura about it.

cheers for that , I would thin for the weekend and some shopping £2000-£3000 would be in order for 2 , she would need some spending money while I watched the GP.

Looks amazing Marching; thanks for sharing, it looked like a fantastic race too - I'll concede it's one of my biggest life ambitions to go and spend the race weekend there in style.

You guys are really missing out on Le Mans...

For around £500/£600 each we will get 5 days of entertainment, all the build up, the camping the atmosphere, the racing which is simply mind blowing, the wind down and not forgetting the trip there and back...

btw, we tried to book the flights mid May I guess, it was only then we realised we'd picked the wrong w/end...

Women + shopping in Monaco/Cannes = OUCH!

Good luck with that one.

Monaco has to be #1 on every F1 fans list simply because it's SO different but Monza has to be #2 for the very reason you said...the passion from the tifosi is very special.

I spent a day in Antibes too drooling over the boats...lucky enough to see one of my favourites...Dilbar, owned by the guy who owns Arsenal.

Le Mans is another of those special races isn't it...certainly on my 'must do' list Colin.

Me and a few mates were planning a massive road trip to an appt one of our group has in Spain and we were going to stop at Le Mans on our way through France but the plans all fell apart. One day though..

Cracking thread this.

Who's the bird ? Me likey

That must have cost a few bob Marchin. I'm off to the Spa grand prix at the end of August for the whole race weekend. Never been to a F1 race, should be cool.

Well worth it Rams...Spa will be good although the weather can be unpredictable...I was at the Belgian GP at Zolder in '82 when the great Gilles Villeneuve was killed.

Eau Rouge

Spa is one of my favourite tracks, it's fantastic. The only problem is it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, you camping?

excellent pics marching. I've never gone to a F1 race. i'd love to, though

went to monaco last september -not for the race, of course- but went to the tunnel were schumacher had that incident with alonso and my brother -who is an alonso fan- took several pics

he promised to mail them to me, but he didnt

the bastard

cool. it's amazing how fast they get wrecked cars off the track. that track is very narrow and passing is/was very difficult. congrats on your trip. i'd personally love to go to the upcoming race at le mans.

I hope to be standing at eu rouge (or at least the straight just after it), it's only cheap tickets at eu rouge I think. And for the race itself it will depend where they will have the DRS where I'll stand; I want to see some overtaking. I've been to Spa before (it used to be public roads..) just not during a race weekend.
We've rented an apartment in Spa town itself. We have our own car with us and there's a coach from Spa town to the circuit.
