Breaking on SSN. Apparently talks at an advanced stage, so presumably he could line up against us at the weekend.

Well this is just out of the blue! Shit what are we going to do? They are going to get PHIL NEVILLE.

Actually it is a worry, some actual steel in their team.

It's pretty clear that Harry is trying to get some Experience and Winning Mentality in the squad. Phil has plenty in the both aspects, not sure about his quality though.

Phil Nevilles still class. Can't believe Everton gave him up tbh, pretty surprising all round really. I'd still have him at Rb for England.

Wow, now that is an odd move, why on earth would Everton sell him?

Hope it doesn't happen soon enough for him to play against us, although he might score an og if we're struggling!

I know Coleman is coming along nicely at RB for Everton. But they would be totally insane to sell Phil Neville.

Colemans been playing right wing most of the season.

I can only presume that he's out of contract at the end of the season and Everton are looking to get a few quid for him

Yeah I think Coleman's apparent rapid integration into the team is the main reason for it, and Phil saw the chance to get one last go at CL football and hoped Moyes would grant him it rather than hold him back even if it was to the detriment of the team short-term.

Surprised Moyes is letting him go, very strange. Phil is quality, good signing for Spurs if they get him.

Expect bids for G Neville, Giggs and Scholes soon too. Sorry Harry but your about 15 years too late!

Squad players help win trophies - there's nothing particularly strange about this transfer. Redknapp is shoring up an injury prone squad with a player who can come in at either full back position or in midfield and put in a 7/10 performance. And he has winning experience.

There are rumours that this was the stumbling block in getting Beckham. Beckham really wanted Phil, because they're tight buddies. Redknapp refused at first, but it seems he finally mellowed.

Thinking about it, it would do them no harm at all. To suddenly have Beckham and Neville strut around the training field will have both an immediate and medium term positive impact on the squad.

Likewise, Phil Neviile offers them Champions League experience and could be the difference for them in the next knock out round. And with Spurs still in 3 competitions like us, as long as they stay in them, we all know how thick and fast the games start coming at you from the beginning of February. He offers them another dimension.

Phil has all the experience in the world, and is a winner and a leader, as long as this is a cheap deal I don't see what Redknapp is doing wrong, hes got enough young players as is. Phil is a couple of years younger than the other United lads remember.

So to get Beckham for a month or two they had to buy Phil Neville? That sounds a bit far fetched if you ask me, but stranger things have happened.

Actually not a bad signing for Spurs if true.

Strange that Everton are letting him go though.

That would be silly. Signing an extra player just to bring someone in on loan? Doesnt make sense. Quite possible is that Beckham recommended Phil to Redknapp. Maybe Harry and him discussed where the strengths and the weaknesses of the Spurs squad are and Becks believes that Phil can do a job for them

If he's buying him it's to try stem the constant tide of goals they concede. Hutton might be decent going forward but he's a busted flush defensively.

Would he play him at left back to get Assou-Ekotto out of the side? He is their weakest link.

Whenever I've seen him of late Assou-Ekotto has looked decent, though I don't rate him all that much.

Yeah, my Spurs mates said he was awful against Everton.
